Zahia, Pierre et Gilles: 2 must-go venues !

Zahia Shootee Par Pierre Et Gilles

Pierre behind the lens, Gilles behind the paint brush. The artistic tasks of the famous couple of artists are quite clear. For the past 30 years, the latter minutely retouches with his paint brushes the ultra slick photographs of the former, allowing each one to put his talent at the benefit of a dreamlike arty universe, with magnified aesthetics close to perfection.

In town and on the screen, the brilliant duo is showcasing two bewitching exhibitions. In the Marais, heros with a magnetic beauty cover the walls of the Galerie Daniel Templon. From the myth of Narcissus to militants of the Arab Spring, including Zahia, their muse, as goddess of kitsch, characters as iconoclastic as they are seductive.

As for Mobilier National , the couple was given carte blanche from the National Furniture of the Republic, a square living room scenography stemming from furniture belonging to à Marie-Antoinette. A boudoir ambiance in the style of Sofia Coppola, with a more than natural portrait of Zahia (her again), as an imposing modern day sovereign, who presides at the center of the room, hypnotizing!

Pierre et Gilles, Héros, until 31 May 2014 Galerie Daniel Templon (30 rue Beaubourg 75003 Paris), Monday to Saturday from 10am to 7pm, free entrance.

Carte blanche to Pierre et Gilles, Galerie des Gobelins, Salon Carré, until 27 July 2014, everyday from 11am to 6pm except on Monday, 6 €.
