The most dreamlike: the Renaissance sleeping beauties

News091013une Delicieuse Balade Gourmande Et Arty

Take a very unusual arty stroll near Musée du Luxembourg where lovely sleeping beauties and great dreamers are on show during this enchanting theme: the dream; One of the favorite subjects of great Renaissance masters.

From Bosch to Michelangelo including Dürer, the works on display represent this abstract state that both fascinates and perturbs. Because when darkness falls and demons replace angles, dreams become nightmares.

We like: decoding the hidden symbols of these fantasized dream representations or visions inspired from mythology.

And after the show, we make a bee line for the lover Angélina tea room nestled in the museum garden to sip an unctuous hot chocolate with a nice cake.

Renaissance and the Dream, Bosch, Véronèse, Le Greco…
