The Lapérouse bar
It's the mundane buzz for the month of December. The Left Bank embankments that are making Left Bank swing and compete with the Mathis, Baron and other favorites where the Gotha of Parisian nights like to come!
The place is not really a novelty ! It’s better than that… the relaunching of a myth in its own right: the Bar de Lapérouse where Georges Sand, Proust, Kate Moss and all the other it-girls of the moment have come to chat, sip bewitching potions and why not more…
In terms of decor, retro is in ! No more « revisited » places, the old-school edge to this house was restored in the pure tradition of « yesteryear » by artisans of the Carré des Batignolles.
Rendez-vous on the, the ultra-cozy red velvet Chesterfield banquettes, the pompons and mostly, the mirrors scratched by the diamonds of the 18th century “cocottes” to verify the value of the brilliant gifts made by their sugar-daddies…
We looove… the come-back of the piano-bar (every week-end) a great place for exchanging gossipy tidbits and snobbier than ever.
At the turn-tables… Bertrand Merlette ex-barman of the Hotel Raphael who is a real champ when it comes to a Whisky Sour, Américano, Gimlet and a wide array of wild cocktails. Petits fours appetizers to nibble on in order not to get tipsy.
