LILLE 3000, the arty destination of the moment
Yes, there is better than FIAC, it’s Lille 3000 that has just inaugurated an authentic lab of contemporary creation that sets forth your talents from all over the world.
The must ? The extravagant exhibition of the talented Nick Cave at Tripostal, a forming mail sorting center transformed into an art venue. For the first time in Europe, Nick Cave presents the generous fantasy of his "Soundsuits", colorful costumes decorated with sequins, pearls, hair tops or wooden sticks. But also with artistss: Borre Sæthre, Carlos Amorales, Marnie Weber, Debo Eilers, Apichatpong Weerasethakul.
We looove: the Métamorphoses, twenty works of art scattered all over the town, a must to rediscover Lille, like an « outdoor art course». Our favorite? « La Maison tombée du ciel » by Jean François Fourtou, « Le Trafic » by Théo Mercier or « Nuage de Brume » by Fujiko Nakaya at the Gare de Lille train station.
Tops : it’s a one-hour train ride from Paris. So you can do the round trip in the day and eat an incredible Meert waffle at tea-time!
