Oxalys : a star studded restaurant on the slopes…

Luckily, mountains and ski resorts are not just about cheese raclette, fondue and tartiflettes party ops.

But it’s hard to imagine that one could just schuss right off the slopes into a marvelous restaurant 2 Michelin macaroons.

It’s on the slopes of Val Thorens that Jean Sulpice, a true culinary hero and his wife, champion of great wine selection, decided to set up their magical restaurant. Imagine yourself tasting one of the best cuisines in the view with a view on snow-capped peaks, in a cozy but no frills decor after having glided in from a powdery slope!

A little gourmet excstasy on the program. Our favorite menu? L’oxalys, at 115€. Velvety chestnut soup, seared parmesan and grated truffles, scallops in a frothy mix of parsley-chives and lemon caviar. Of course, « the » cheese platter before the chocolate: ganache with citrus fruit, millefeuilles with sesame and cloud of Chartreuse

We just love: going there on skis! The way? Directly take the «Pluviomètre » run or «Plein Sud» heading for «Le Cairn». From Val Thorens, take the  « Plein Sud » chairlift or « 3 Vallées 1 » and hook up to the «Pluviomètre » or« Plein Sud » slopes in the direction  of « le Cairn ».
The restaurant is after the skier bridge on the left.
