The buzzing food venue in Marseille

Lexpo Food Qui Buzze A Marseille

Sunny Marseille is the hot destination of the moment. So here is a very good reason to undertake a round-trip to the city of the OM football team and sun-filled happy hours (Pastis forever).

With food as a figurehead of the hottest exhibition of the moment, MUCEUM, the gigantic arty center is right up our alley--let’s go !

On the menu, works by forty contemporary artists from around the world. Their common denominator? Food !

Between an installation stemming from sunflower seeds by Brazilian Ernesto Neto, compositions inspired by the Northern gastronomy Belgian Marcel Broodthaers (mussels, bottles) and a filmed performance of the famous Marina Abramovic ( the big boss blond of the OM) eating an onion, there is a lot of food for thought!

In a transparent mode, this is mostly a reflection on key themes: food waste, impacts from climate change, access to nutrition, and more generally the place of food in society.

The must? Grabbing a bite in one of the thirteen Marseille restaurants featuring a dish inspired by the exhibition, amongst which La Boîte à Sardine, l’Aromat and the Rowing Club. Definitely a way to prolong the FOOD experience at the table (until February 23rd).

FOOD, produire, manger, consommer, until March 9th 2015. Open every day except on Tuesday, from 11am to 6pm. Full rate 8€
