From comic strips to sketches at auction !

Maybe you don’t know his name but you have certainly seen his drawings: he’s the one behind the book covers of San Antonio, as well as the poster for the film "The cow and the prisoner " (with Fernandel): Michel Gourdon,

This discrete illustrator has sketched thousands of covers for books and film posters, worked with ad mogul Jacques Séguéla and collaborated on many magazines. In short it’s the small story of a larger one that one finds in his works.

And if you cannot afford one of the 280 original drawings of the « pope of illustration » that will be put up for auction at Drouot by the famous auctioneer Pierre Cornette de Saint Cyr, you can look at them during the exhibition preview at Drouot Richelieu, organized by the auction house Cornette de Saint Cyr on 22 and 23 February.
