An « animated » exhibition at the Gaité Lyrique

Une Expo Et Un Brunch A La Gaite Lyrique

Back to childhood with this exhibition, both fascinating and joyful, dedicated to tactile cartoon films. In the same lines as the ultra amusing Chicken Run or The Strange Christmas of M. Jack,  stop motion cinema cleverly combines digital techniques and handicraft fiddling. A feat when you know that film productions requires 24 images per second !

La Gaité Lyrique is offering an immersion in this fantasy world where puppets and play dough characters come to life as though by magic. Fifteen film directors from around the world unveil their techniques and creative processes, from the original sketch to the final film including layouts, the making-of and the storyboard. 2.0 story tellers and those who relied on Hermès and Vogue for their ads or Björk for fantasy clips.

The plus? Participate in the creative studio during the exhibition to contribute in producing a real animated film in stop motion.

We adore: extending the exhibition the healthy brunch healthy, every Sunday starting at noon 12h at the historical foyer (nice dishes, gluten-free pastries, organic products…).

Motion Factory –Les ficelles du monde animé, Thursday 24 April to Sunday 10 August 2014, 2-8pm from Tuesday to Saturday and noon-§pm on Sunday. Late night on Tuesday until 10pm.
