The anti-boring comedy of cultivated Parisiennes!

Principalee

We have good news for all those who hate dull theater... Here is the proof that Chekhov can also make us howl with laughter without ever being boring for a single minute with two one-act comedies: The Bear and the Proposal ».  Chekhov himself had named them as his “two jokes”.

Action ! Elena Popova (played by the lovely Garance Thenault) a lovely widow, retired from the world, since the death of her husband, lives as a recluse with her butler. A certain Smirnov appears and starts shaking up her monotone life with troubling revelation concerning her husband...

The “Proposal”, turns into a hilarious vaudeville domestic scene, signed Chekhov …

We adore: the very fluid acting technique of talented comedians and a very contemporary scenography. To go see quickly!

L’Ours et la demande en mariage, staged by Jean-Pierre Leroux. 1h. Representations on Wednesday and Friday at 9pm until Janaury 30th!
