It's the ultimate in Paris palaces. The rooms with a view on the Tuileries gardens are very Versailles but since 2007, the bar, the Dali restaurant as well as the gastronomical enclave have been totally redone by Philippe Starck and his daughter, Ara, who designed the very impressive ceiling canvas in what was previously the Winter garden. Another very good reason to go there, aside from the cocktails at the bar, the Dali for club sandwich (still 29 EUR) and its terrific tea-time offer (mini-sandwiches, scones and other sweets by the outstanding Camille Lesecq, the young pastry chef, 30 EUR): the Valmont spa and the services of star hairdresser, Christophe Robin who heads the salon since he left his own.
