Martyrs - Saint Georges
Totally bobo on the rue des Martyrs side, more down to earth and melting pot on the Grands Boulevards side and around Pigalle, surprisingly the 9th arrondissement has sidestepped gentrification and kept an end of the 19th century beginning of the 20th allure, made of small boutiques, antique shops who are still there, old timer bubbles that are holding their own with timeless charm.

Lunch: Live Pasta
Grant it the name is not really enticing but it gives you a good insight into what's going on in this Chinese eatery: a noodle expert in the Northern China style stretches in front of you long twirling threads of hard wheat that will end up in a broth (spicy beef is one of our favorites) or sautéed (with veggies, our other favorites). Fast-food rates (about 10 EUR) and décor in the same vein.
