3) where you can show up with a group of 8 or 10 (without being considered like a Martian or camp counselor …)
4) a spot that does not require 3 weeks to reserve with crazy hours (who has dinner at 7:15pm or 11 pm?)…
Cool, we have found the ideal hype address for this Winter, a skip and a hop from rue de Bretagne! The former Café Rouge has been taken over by ultra pros and friendly entrepreneurs in their thirties... Imagine an incredible mundane brasserie on three levels in the Eiffel style, decorated with talent by designer Lazaro Rosa Violan.
On the program: fireplaces, large wood tables, amazing bars, mosaic tiles, bolts and industrial touches, in other words a venue filled with peps and a wildly New York style atmosphere!
When it comes to food, we are a far cry from run of the mill restaurants (burrata and burgers…), but a delicious cuisine, sophisticated, generous and easy going concocted by Alban Drevet (ex Georges V) with a menu that changes every week … Seabass carpaccio with sudachi lemon and butternut (12€), amazing filets of marinated red snapper and basil fennel ice cream (14€), scallops and et salsify cooked carbonara style (19€) quail with panned foie gras, mashed Jerusalem artichokes and grapes (22€), For dessert: you must taste the Paris Brest canon or the Mont Blanc Clémentine sorbet (9€).
We love: the second bar on the upper level like a small glam’ salon where one can show up for a drink without feeling obliged to stay for dinner; they have a very British-style corner with a fireplace and club chairs on the third floor.
Special kudos to the lovely mixologist Pauline who shakes up with cocktails such as Old-Cuban, Cucumber Martini or Bourbon Sours, all mixed according to your tastes and whims of the day like a « feel-happy » (11€) shot.
