A slight perfume of forbidden is blowing on the very trendy place du Marché-Saint-Honoré since the brasserie of Rostang Père & Filles is offering their « Heure Verte ». This green happy hour, a tad transgressive, is dedicated to the mythical green magician, absinthe.
A partir de 17h, on file s’encanailler à la terrasse de ce chic-issime bistrot où l’on sert la boisson culte dans la plus pure tradition avec fontaine, sucre et cuillère à absinthe… Canaille !
A la carte, an impressive selection of aniseed bottles to choose from. For twigs who prefer soft play, go for a François Guy by Pernod, the oldest French distiller with aromas of aniseed, de coriander or mint or Blanchette (7,50 €/glass), a very soft version without coloring of an immaculate white. For the fun, we tested Blanche de Fougerolles (10 €/glass) with its 74° of furiously fruity accents.
We like : the complimentary finger-foods. Rillettes of sardines, houmous, eggplant caviar, tapenade, black olive terrines with good crispy bread … In short very chic and down to earth nibbmes for a Frenchy happy hour.
The must ? You can even buy bottles to go.
L’Heure Verte de l’Absinthe – de 17h à 19h

Special kudos to the fresh farmer cheese with truffle (that comes from La Crèmerie, a great cheese shop located around the corner on rue de Lancry).
