Mercerie Fine, DIY & coffee-shop

Mercerie Fine

Forget your old fashioned Granny’s notion shop! At La Mercerie Fine, the selection is pointy as their needles and you can really satisfy all your fantasies as an aspiring stylist.

A sewing buff, Mélanie left her legal career by the wayside to open this small fabric store that doubles up as a coffee-shop. It’s the ideal spot to come talk about fashion around yummy cookies and nice coffee.

Here you will find a serendipity of fabrics: cotton, velvet, flannel, here fabrics showcase flashy colors and wild prints (flowers, polka dots, checks, lemons). Most of the brands are American or Japanese, such as Cotton+Style, Cloud9, Art Gallery, references that are almost impossible to find in France. And also the Frenchy label, Atelier Brunnette and everything that the DIY seamstress needs (thread, needles, ribbons…).

We adore their sewing bar, like a workshop corner, reserved for sewing and knitting lessons.  Sewing machine initiation, confection of cushions or kimono jackets—it’s amazing what you can do with ten fingers!

The plus: the website is under construction, but soon it will be possible to shop and reserve courses on line.

Open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 7pm. Count 12-24€ per meter.
