The Best Candy in France
Misspelled words, corrected in red pen... even the entrance conjures up the fond memories of childhood. Upon entering the boutique, you will find a typical old-fashioned classroom filled with candy, submerged in color and filled with the aroma of sweets.
Keeping with the scholastic spirit, the jars are accompanied by a tiny chalkboard where the name of each type of candy is written in white chalk. You can taste the sweets with your eyes even before you taste them with your mouth.
It was after working for many years in gourmet cuisine that Georges fulfilled his childhood dream of opening a candy store. At first, we wanted to bring back the candy of his youth like Haribo however, one day while reading the afternoon paper, the idea came to him to focus on the craft of artisanal sweets confectionary.
So Georges traveled the four corners of France in search of these sweet treasures. He chooses from those who make candy with a certain knowledge that has been passed down through different generations over hundreds of years. And like the principal of a school, he knows each candy name by heart and he can tell the story of how each piece was made and where it came from, oftentimes including a personal anecdote. You can even find the oldest type of French candy in his shop: la grisette de Montpellier
People come here to enjoy fine candy such as the homemade marshmallows and chocolates or sweets made with real sprigs of mint, lemon verbena, rose petals and crystallized violet.
