Viva Italia !
Nestled at the end of a dead-end street on the rue de Grenelle, the Italian Cultural Institute is one of the hidden treasures of Paris. A large Embassy style building, a flowered garden, an Italian vegetable garden sprinkled by a dozen « Nazzone », (Roman fountains) and a back courtyard that recalls the piazettas we love so much, the Italian Cultural Institute is a place to urgently (re) discover.
Its purpose is to promote Italian culture and contemporary arts-give an insight into this versatile transalpine country that runs the gamut from traditions to updated daily events. Currently on display, the amazing creations of the great seamstress and couturière Fernanda Gattinoni who dressed all of Hollywood and the international jet set starting in the 40's-such as Audrey Hepburn in War and Peace, Anna Magnani and her little black dresses, Kim Novak, Anouk Aimé and so many others... A great excuse to get lost in this little corner of Italy in Paris.
