Canal Saint Martin
20 May 2009 - Du Pain et des Idées
This good looking 1900 boutique with glass ceilings and beveled mirrors, happens to be one of the best bakers in Paris. All the breads are cooked on stones, like in the old days, which gives them a flat bottom and a thick crust, in short, they are excellent. At tea-time, there is a rush on the chaussons aux pommes (apple pastries) and the chocolate snails, that disappear in less then 15 seconds.
