Twirling plates, waltzing glasses, the turmoil of 19th century Paris is around the table. Between the old fashioned charm of elegant ladies, the extravagance of flirting cocottes and the energy of musical cabarets, « Dîners de Faveur » are an occasion, during the entire month of June, to rekindle past century through an exceptional meal. A nice birthday idea for gourmet Dads.
The G.H.Mumm champagne house, already favored by epicureans of the time, has asked five star chefs to reinterpret the menu served on 25 June 1901 during the monthly rendezvous of the entertainment crowd during that era.
Each venue revisits in its own way signature dishes: soup, crayfish with a gribiche sauce, ducklings with small green peas, Max Maurey salad (in homage to the author of comedies who presided the original dinner), Paulette ice cream, a wink to the lovely singer Paulette Darty, guest star of the famous dinner. A sparkling feast served with G.H.Mumm vintages.
Where is it happening? In Paris at Apicius (260 €/person) and in other star-studded locations in Lyon, Bouliac, Angers and Baux de Provence.
