The most vintage: Jeanne Lanvin at Galliera

La Plus Vintage Jeanne Lanvin A Galliera

Did you know Lanvin was the oldest French couture house still in activity? After starting out as a haberdasher, Jeanne Lanvin opened her first fashion shop in 1889.

The Palais Galliera is showcasing the origins of the label and its codes. In short, all the characteristic elements with which Alber Elbaz is still having fun today.

Her obsession for the color blue, her definite references to the Art Deco style and mostly her relationship with her only daughter Marguerite are featured through a hundred archive pieces, notably dresses with incredible details (pearls, embroidery) but also sketches, notebooks, period accessories…

We adore: going back on the saga of an avant-garde woman who already had a keen sense of marketing (départements jeune fille et mariée, launch of a perfumes parfum…).

Jeanne Lanvin, until the 23rd of August 2015. Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 6pm. Late night on Thursday until 9pm. Closed on Monday and holidays.
