Banksy: the street-artist at the heart of a fab exhibition

Exhibition at Espace Lafayette-Drouot

It’s the first time that an exhibition of this scope is dedicated to Banksy - and it’s happening in Paris. Espace Lafayette-Drouot, the new place dedicate to “artertainment” (contraction of art and entertainment) according to its founder Hazis Vardar, conceived a totally innovative immersive course through the work of the sulfurous street-artist known for his stunts. The latest one, the auto-destruction of one of his works during a Sotheby’s auction last October.

A hundred works scattered on 1,200m²

Careful, don’t be mistaken, the mysterious Banksy, whom nobody has identified (if you have any info, we want to know EVERYTHING), did not take part in the conception of this Parisian event.

The experience starts off quite softly with a series of framed lithographs framed by private collectors: the anarchist rat, the little girl with a red balloon, Pulp Fiction… Fans will immediately recognize the most stunning images of the provocative graffiti artist.

Street-art steps out of the frame

Less conventional and much more surprising, the second part of the circuit presents mural works by Banksy reproduced life size by Parisian street-artists on the walls of this wildly underground space.

A wandering as captivating as it is unusual in the streets of London, New York, Bethléem, Bristol (from where Banksy comes from) and of course Paris, on the tracks of Banksy.

The World of Banksy, the immersive experience, until the 31st of July 2019. €14.
