THE PERFUME YOU NEVER SMELLED BEFORE

Not to be missed: Singin’ In The Rain

Forget the doldrums and rendezvous at Châtelet because here is an ideal shot of culture and good humor to go back to the theater...

You enjoyed The Artist with Jean Dujardin? You will adore the cult musical comedy Singin’ In The Rain that is landing at the Théâtre du Châtelet before flying to Broadway. And you will probably come out tap dancing under Parisian rain!

The pitch? End of the Roaring Twenties. A star of the silent movies and his partner on the screen must adapt to the birth of a new cinema with sound on a background of friendship, jealousies, treasons and love. A musical comedy from the golden age of Hollywood that does not have a single wrinkle.

We adore: the silent movie star, Lina Lamont (played by the very amusing Emma Kate Nelson), who is incapable of adapting to the talkies because of her high pitch voice, unbearable just like her country bumpkin accent. Great moments of comedy!

Backstage: we will not tell you how the lead song of Gene Kelly dancing with his umbrella was staged. But it’s a (very lovely) surprise!

Singin’ In The Rain, at the Théâtre du Châtelet until the 15th of  January.
