Romeo and Juliette, the absolute must-see love-story

Romeo And Juliette

Maybe you were not aware, but the Comédie-Française, much more than a spectacular theater, is a talent scout factory that discovers all the new bankable stars: Guillaume Gallienne, Pierre Niney, Marina Hands to mention but a few.

So when “Le Français” (its nickname for theater buffs in the know) plays Romeo and Juliette after 60 years of absence: no doubt possible, it’s THE play to go see absolutely.

Explanations: fabulous costumes signed Christian Lacroix, the handsome Laurent Lafitte, who upgrades the character of Benvolio ,‘brother of Romeo and an ultra contemporary staging by Éric Ruf. The Shakespearian drama has been replaced in the ambiance of an Italian vendetta during the 1930s.

Special kudos to Suliane Brahim, the rising star, who delivers a fresh and very mature Juliette, a far cry from the usual clichés of ingenuity. A name to follow!

We adore: rediscovering the cult Shakespearian LOVE STORY (powerful and enemy families, impossible love) in a version with high added value.

Alternation until the 30th of May 2016. Matinées at 2pm, evenings at 8:30pm.
