The most pop: Niki de Saint Phalle at the Grand Palais

Lexpo Tres Pop De Niki De Saint Phalle Au Grand Palais

Niki de Saint Phalle is known mostly for her curvaceous and colorful Nanas and the Stravinsky fountain facing the Pompidou Center, created with her accomplice and sculptor husband Jean Tinguely.

But this brilliant and committed artist was herself quite a « nana» (gal in French). The Grand Palais is celebrating her work and her combats (feminism, AIDS, politics) through a grandiose retrospective enriched with many videos of her explaining her works.

We like: a pop and varied exhibition (sculptures, paintings, videos…) retracing the work of an artiste and a committed woman.

The plus: in parallel to the exhibition, Centquatre is presenting a huge skull-shaped sculpture with the inside covered in mirrors. A psychedelic trip for those who dare go inside! (free access).

Niki de Saint Phalle, until 2 February 2015, every day except Tuesday from 10am to 10pm. Until 8pm on Sunday and Monday. Full rate 13 €
