Warning: great find! This gallery opened its doors at the beginning of May, located on one of the most highbrow arty streets in the Marais. Founded by Béatrice Saint-Laurent, the gallery has always been a dream for this petite blonde after years of working at the Ministry of Culture.
The concept? To mix jewelry design with fashion under one shared attribute: rarity. Thus, BSL presents completely unique pieces, all exclusively created for this gallery and part of a limited edition collection.
The place? Conceived by the designer, Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance, it centers around a « white cube » which evokes both an artistic and unusual atmosphere. And the risk paid off! We're obsessed with this marvel of design and elegant jewelry, created by the biggest names in contemporary art (incredible earrings by Ron Arad, a pop-art ring made my Jasper Johns himself, to list a few.) We also love the jeweled clothing by Martin Grant and the signature bags by Benoit Duvignac, who was formerly with Dior and Rykiel. And the list goes on!
From a design perspective, the gallery lighting leaves us still dreaming of these Lawrence displays, which beautifully illuminate these precious gems. And lastly, this little miss arty is especially exited that her new gallery will be presenting Nacho Carbonell's work for the first time in Paris as well as pieces by Djim Berger.
Beautiful but too expensive? Not even, BSL has thought of everything-each section has a less expensive version of the jewelry, where you can find pieces starting at 40 EUR.
And If you are into humorous design, the skarkskin iphone slipcovers are a hoot!
