In the confidences of Yves Saint Laurent

Good 2

No need to call up Cara Delevingne to find out the small secrets of the famous couturier and his couture house… Two great exhibitions lift the veil on still confidential episodes.

Shocking, the Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent Foundation is showcasing one of the fashion house’s biggest taboos: the « Libération » collection (also called « Quarante ») presented in 1971.

At the time, the press went into a tizzy and was scandalized, there was loud criticism, total incomprehension. The reason of this fashion drama? The outfits on display were openly inspired by the World War II and the occupation (knee-length dresses, wedge heels, square shoulders…). The original pieces and the photos shot live on D day make the experience all the more immersive.

As for the Secret Gallery, this brand new exhibition space, hidden in a former chapel, presents very rare authentic sketches and drawings never unveiled until now and a stunning scenography. Fashion Marc-Antoine illustrator Coulon signs for this occasion works in homage to th couture maestro. On display until Sunday only, hurry up and go.
