Hôtel Providence, a terrace just like in Provence

Terrace hotel providence

The pitch? We had already introduced Providence, the hot new boutique, open by the gang of Pierre Moussié (Jeanette, Brasserie Barbès or Le Parisien, that’s him), the king of trendy bistros. This time the result is stunning rooms and a terrific brasserie. Special kudos for his cocktails.

The terrace: impossible to believe that such a small corner of Parisian paradise exists so near the urban jungle of Strasbourg Saint Denis. The setting? A vegetal terrace on the cute place at the end of a paved pedestrian street. Small wrought iron benches, jasmine arbours running along the hotel walls as though you were in Provence.

You go there for… all your whims! A fab sunny breakfast, coffee and cigs or a long lasting happy hour. Go for the foie gras to share (16€), a mackerel bruschetta with ricotta (16€), washed down with a Spritz (12€), a glass of rosé (Côtes de Provence at 9€) or their super Martini&Tonic Spring cocktail (9€).

We also like: going for a really good dinner in neo-brasserie style: carpaccio of sword fish (15€), sirloin tip and truffle gravy with out of this world truffle mashed potatoes (28€) before the Julhès desserts chariot is wheeled over (8€).

To be noted: no reservations: first come, first served.

Open everyday all day until noon. Brunch from 11 to 15pm on sundays.
