A wildly DIOR exhibition at the Grand PALAIS

Here is the must-see couture show! Cherry on the cake, the exhibition is free. A deluxe op to stock up on history, poetry and the couture spirit that is not to be missed.

Because Miss Dior has landed at the Grand Palais for this magical event : a real homage to the first fragrance created by the talented couturier Christian Dior in 1947 whose success is worldwide… The muse of this mythical perfume? An amazing woman, Catherine Dior, his little sister, who was a hero during the Résistance and deported during the War…

What better homage to this cult « juice»? The label decided to invite 15 artists to embrace the Miss Dior myth and showcase the symbols of its universe… While Iranian film director Shirin Neshat chose to feature a film in black and white using her muse Natalie Portman as ultimate heroine, designer Nika Zupanc imagined an installation in the spirit of a room, inspired by the bow on the bottle and writer Virginia Woolf…

Once upon a time… We adore the sensitive portrait of Christian Dior on the mezzanine as we peruse through documents and photos, retracing his influences and friends such as Man Ray or Dali… Tops also: a poetic wall where one finds the DNA and the story of the Dior House

The must ? Rediscovering all the cult pieces of the Miss Dior universe that are on display, starting with the Bar suit, the iconic piece from 1947, vintage bottles, as well as the red « Concerto » dress (1957) right up to the latest creations by Raf Simons, artistic director of the house, who revisited Miss Dior for the occasion…

When? Wednesday 13 to Monday 25 November, at the Galerie Courbe inside the Grand Palais from 11am to 8pm. Late night on Wednesday until 10pm
