Buly, the vintage beauty shop

Buly

Pimples, sunburns, redness… Desperate cases require great remedies. And what could be better than an old-fashioned apothecary’s shop to find magical antidotes?

Head for Buly, founded in 1805, by an eponymous perfume and vinegar-maker, who just re-opened its doors on rue Bonaparte. A pretty sleeping beauty awakened by a kinetic couple: Ramdane Touhami, already at the origin of the Cire Trudon comeback along with creator Victoire de Taillac.

Walk into this wonderful vintage lab decor with a huge wooden counter, shelves covered with vials and jars, here you will find everything to treat small skin issues using old fashioned natural products. Because the vegetal benefits of apricot pits, seed of or raspberry are used for customized treatments.

We also like: small miracle products such as the ultra moisturizing concrete ointment and soap oil as well as the virginal milk to retain a voile of perfume after showering. And of course fragrances with retro inspirations along with splendid candles.

For history buffs : Balzac was inspired by Buly for his  persona of César Birotteau in La Comédie Humaine.
