Who said you had to sell your children to pay the bill in Paris? While some high-prestige addresses target a wealthy clientele, these stylish new spots have won over our (demanding!) palates without emptying our bank accounts. Better yet: all five offer a (very good) lunch for less than €30, focusing on beauty and taste without making a fool of anyone. You’ll definitely be back.
Chez Clo

The venue, the mood: Located near Parmentier, the new Chez Clo restaurant is already a showstopper with its stunning two-story raw industrial decor and soaring ceilings. Bathed in natural light by day and intimate candlelight by night, it serves as the backdrop for Chef Justine Audouin’s (Gramme, Babel, Ajar…) inspired bistronomic cuisine. Her signature? Unexpected pairings showcased in joyful, colorful, and comforting plates that marry high-quality seasonal produce with clever techniques and addictive seasonings that keep you coming back for more.
At lunch: While the menu evolves regularly, lunch features creative starters like purple sprouting broccoli tempura with lemon mayo and anchovies, alongside veggie options such as celeriac carpaccio with Granny Smith apple, hazelnut, and ricotta. The generous main courses continue to surprise with novel flavor combinations and intriguing textures—take, for instance, the duck leg served with carrot purée, kale, kumquat, and sesame peanut, or a delightful flatbread topped with a slow-cooked "perfect egg," green asparagus, peas, broad beans, wild garlic butter, jalapeños, and yogurt. The experience ends on a high note with a kiwi pavlova featuring tarragon yogurt ice cream and lime whipped cream, or for the cheese lovers, a gorgonzola elevated by a pear and chili condiment. It’s everything we love!
Chez Clo, 62 rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud, Paris 11th. Open for lunch Monday to Friday, and for dinner every night, including Sundays.
Les Indécises

The place, the mood: In the heart of the 11th, Les Indécises is one of those addresses that tells the story of Paris. Open since the 1960s, this neighborhood café has seen generations pass by without ever losing its soul. Recently taken over by Nicolas Schweri, a local and fan of old-school bistros, the place has been given a new lease on life without betraying its history. Red banquettes, zinc counter, terrace with iconic chairs… everything breathes the Parisian café we love, a sincere version far from the tourist traps. Open from morning until late at night, you stop by for a coffee at the counter, a lingering lunch, or a drink you don't want to leave.
At lunch: On the menu, a starter, main course, and dessert formula (€27), with everything that makes a real Parisian brasserie so charming. For starters, you might hesitate between the mushroom ravioli with truffle cream, eaten with a spoon, the fresh smoked salmon, cream cheese, surprisingly well-paired with fennel and lemon olive oil, or of course the oeufs mayo, the classic you never refuse. For mains, it serves up classics you always want to order. Beef hanger steak cooked to perfection, croque-monsieur with Comté cheese and "au torchon" ham that makes all the difference, a generous and comforting cheeseburger, or Charolais beef tartare cut with a knife, all served with crispy fries and a salad. To finish, it’s hard to pass up the desserts. French toast-style brioche, a little childhood reminder with salted butter caramel and vanilla ice cream, a more modern but wickedly gourmet brookie, or crème brûlée where you can really taste the vanilla beans. In short, simple but very well-executed dishes that tick all the boxes of "having a good brasserie lunch on the terrace."
Les Indécises, 2 Rue des Trois Bornes, Paris 11th. Open every day from 8 AM to 2 AM. 01 43 57 26 00

Vingt vins d’Art

The venue, the mood: When two friends take over a wine bar to give it a fresh boost of energy, the result is one of the coziest and most curated spots in the Marais. Following extensive renovations and the arrival of a new chef, Vingt Vins d’Art—already renowned for its selection of wines and sakes—has transformed into a true Asian-fusion restaurant that is both elegant and welcoming. The bar now doubles as a dining room, featuring warm tones, wooden furniture, and beautiful stone walls, not to mention the open kitchen that allows curious diners to watch the chefs at work.
At lunch: Hearty, gourmet plates with Korean accents that evolve with the seasons, offering a brilliant €24 lunch menu. Currently on the menu: gochujang cauliflower, soy-marinated egg mayo with frisée salad, beef meatballs with parsnip and apple purée, or polenta with braised beef chuck and red cabbage… For dessert, you'll be licking your plate clean for the incredible salted butter caramel chocolate mousse or a vanilla flan topped with mezcal whipped cream.
Vingt Vins d’Art, 16 rue de Jouy, Paris 4th. 07 56 83 21 02. Open daily from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM and from 7:00 PM to 11:30 PM.

Le Tire bouchon Rodier

The venue, the mood: What a joy to have Chef Marc Favier back! He previously wowed us at Marcore, his part-bistro, part-gastronomic restaurant where he earned a Michelin star. Now, he makes his comeback near Pigalle with this charming "troquet" designed for epicurean souls. Le Tire-Bouchon Rodier is the cool spot you’ll want to colonize with friends, putting the world to rights over excellent bottles and gourmet "canaille" small plates. It boasts a dining bar spirit with a large counter and high chairs (the best seats in the house because they face the giant mound of farmhouse butter!) alongside an intimate dining room with a few tables. It’s perfect for a quick lunch of comforting plates or the €26 Starter / Main / Dessert lunch set menu!
At lunch: High-level bistronomy crafted with top-tier ingredients and a globetrotting inspiration that electrifies every bite. On our visit, things kicked off with a veal pastrami carpaccio featuring a tuna-lemon sauce and caper-tarragon garnish. Next up: a perfectly crunchy cod Fish & Chips with a divine tartar sauce. Since we were already all-in, we finished with a dark chocolate mi-cuit, naturally drizzled with vanilla crème anglaise to complete the guilty pleasure cycle. We’ll definitely be back!
Le Tire-Bouchon Rodier, 47 rue Rodier, Paris 9th. 01 86 04 27 17. Open Tuesday to Saturday from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

Stock

The venue, the mood: Nestled in the (too) quiet Bourse district, this hideout—bursting with acid-bright touches and fueled by a groovy playlist—serves up bold, energetic "canaille" cuisine. Run by a cheerful band of friends, Stock focuses on sharing plates and a well-curated wine list to set the vibe. It’s an anti-blues destination with a cinematic decor, featuring vintage finds like an orange rotary phone, a Nicole Croisille vinyl, and old copies of Photo magazine. The best seats? Start at the bar counter at the entrance to kick off the evening, then move to the booths in the first room for dinner. Psst: this new temple of cool now hosts festive nights every other Thursday with DJ sets and small sharing plates.
At lunch: Chef Ali Ourti deals out a €29 starter/main/dessert menu, an unbeatable deal for this quality in the neighborhood and always a promise of great surprises! Every day, the daily specials are renewed with a fresh starter and main: country terrine with Espelette pepper, roasted pollack with potato purée, wilted spinach and green oil, or roasted chicken leg with jus and fries. On WEDNESDAYS, look out for the Winter Velouté with green oil and raw cream, followed by rump steak with baby potatoes and pepper sauce, or zaatar-roasted cauliflower, plus the dessert of the week. Currently: a cheeky Speculoos cheesecake with blackcurrant coulis. Mmmh!
Stock, 88 rue de Richelieu, Paris 2nd. 01 86 04 30 96. Open for lunch Monday to Friday; for dinner Tuesday to Thursday until midnight, and Fridays and Saturdays until 2:00 AM.

Argile

The place, the mood: Romain Lamon (former chef-owner of Polissons) owes his technique to his time in palace kitchens (Bristol, Ritz). But in his cute new address, the chef delivers cooking that is both relaxed and sharp, managing to keep prices tight around a unifying lunch menu. Moreover, the neighborhood regulars swear by it: located on Rue de Milan, Argile is THE safe bet in the Europe district, where one could almost applaud this unbeatable value for money. €26 for a highly sophisticated starter / main / dessert combo, who can beat that? Best table: for two, on high chairs facing the cooks to work up an appetite.
At lunch: of course, the menu changes according to arrivals, seasons, and the chef's whims. On the day of our visit, every option was tasted, with a weakness for the egg mayonnaise, twisted with miso and mustard seed pickles, as well as the duck tataki, enhanced by a beetroot condiment. For the main course: roasted pollack, confit celery, oyster mushrooms and white wine sauce, or a roasted pork neck, accompanied by mashed potatoes and a parmesan cream, all perfectly balanced and gourmet. The talent extends to dessert with a rice pudding, granola and sorrel ice cream, full of freshness, or a chocolate mousse, caramelized hazelnuts and zaatar ice cream, already addictive. We bet you'll be back?
Argile, 4 rue de Milan, Paris 9th. 06 46 63 57 50. Open Monday to Friday for lunch and dinner, Saturday for dinner only, closed Sunday.
Armande

The place, the mood: if since its opening, Armande has been the delight of neighborhood residents and other lovers of family cooking, it's because this baby spot perched on the heights of Montmartre has everything to please. Both a catering counter and a pastry shop, this gourmet refuge combines a warm and cool atmosphere in the image of the duo of friends who run it, chef Margaux Bellorguey and entrepreneur Sébastien Aubé. A cozy address nestled in the quiet, ideal for a lunch break with a take-away option.
At lunch: 100% homemade little delights that abolish borders by honoring flavors from the four corners of the planet. Sweet potato gnocchi, miso butter and parmesan (€13.50). Braised sucrine lettuce, parmesan and capers (€6.90). A Banh Mi already a star with crispy chicken, cucumber, carrot, vegan mayo and wasabi (€11.90). For the sweet touch, you're at the right place! The chef has a passion for pastry and serves stunning sweets. Meringue lemon tart sprinkled with black lemon and bergamot (€6.50). And an addictive Basque cheesecake (€5). For hot chocolate fans: the one at Armande revisited with coconut milk and Peruvian chili (€6) is reason enough on its own to hang out at this address!

Hasard

The place, the mood: in a small street near the department stores, this neighborhood bistro declares its love for good food and games. A sexy tavern decorated by the Depict architecture studio that mixes vintage touches, flea market furniture, and modern aesthetics with a mean bar that shines under a flamboyant neon. At the helm, an ultra-friendly team and in the kitchen, chef Matteo Renzi who reinterprets a traditional menu with rigorous sourcing and seasonal products. Here, we drink, we eat, and we play—in short, we enjoy!
At lunch: The lunch menu offers quality around homemade bistro-style suggestions made by the book, with a lunch formula for starter, main course, and dessert (€27). Egg mayo, homemade anchovy mayonnaise (€6.5). Leek vinaigrette, almonds and mustard seeds (€7). On the main course side, tradition takes over with a pepper steak, homemade mashed potatoes (€24), a trout meunière and its steamed potatoes (€21), or sausage and lentils, Beluga lentils and parsley (€18). For the finale, order a melting Basque cheesecake (€6.5) or a XOCO 62% chocolate mousse, fleur de sel and olive oil (€6.5), and with a scratch card that will be brought directly to your table: isn't life beautiful?
Hasard, 7 rue de l’Isly, Paris 8th. Open Monday 11 AM to 11 PM, Tuesday 11 AM to 12 AM, Wednesday 11 AM to 12:30 AM, Thursday and Friday 11 AM to 1 AM, Saturday 5 PM to 12 AM, closed Sunday. 01 86 53 49 10.Discover also Affordable End-of-Month Plans to Treat Yourself and 7 cult-favorite dishes in Paris under €30
