Authentic Kobido at Le Nouveau Monde

Where? At Le Nouveau Monde, a true holistic therapy centre just steps from the Palais-Royal, founded in 2022 by Noémie Bloch. The space brings together a selection of independent practitioners united by the same approach: promoting long-lasting wellbeing through sophrology, naturopathy, Kobido massages and Renata França treatments.
The treatment we tried: the Authentic Kobido.
What is it? An ancestral Japanese protocol that stimulates the muscles and tissues of the face from the surface down to the deepest layers, using precise, highly technical and structured movements. The treatment is performed by the wonderful Patricia Ebbayile-Chelin, a graduate and certified practitioner in Traditional Shiatsu and Authentic Kobido.
The promise? Look five years younger, with beautifully lifted skin and visibly refined texture.
The protocol: Patricia alternates a succession of rapid movements, tapping, kneading, sculpting and gentle smoothing techniques across the skin, tissues and muscles. One hour of expert choreography targeting precise points to actively stimulate the lymphatic system, helping eliminate toxins, boost microcirculation and tone the muscles of the face and neck.
The result: reduced under-eye bags, a gorgeous glow, higher-looking cheekbones and a beautifully redefined facial contour.
Le Nouveau Monde, 21 rue d'Argenteuil, Paris 1st. 01 88 61 57 73. Authentic Kobido, 1 hour – €155.
A slimming massage at La Maison du Tui Na

Where? For more than 15 years, La Maison du Tui Na has been introducing Parisians to the benefits of traditional Chinese massages at its chic, minimalist locations. Our favourite is the institute on rue de Turbigo, with its dark wood, soft music and dimmed lighting.
The treatment we tried: the Jian Fei & Detox Combo.
What is it? A slimming treatment that works deeply on the meridians and acupuncture points through pressure, friction and stretching techniques, acting as a genuine slimming booster.
The promise? To tackle fat deposits, cellulite and loss of firmness, helping reset the clock after those summer indulgences.
The protocol: with a particular focus on the stomach and legs, the treatment includes 25 minutes of Detox massage to detoxify and drain the body, followed by 30 minutes of Jian Fei Tui Na massage, combining tapping, kneading and rolling techniques on the stomach using highly targeted essential oils. Is it exactly a walk in the park? Not really. But what can we say—it really works (allow for 8 to 10 sessions)...
The result: firmer skin, broken-down fat cells and cellulite drained and eliminated deep down.
La Maison du Tui Na, 28 rue de Turbigo, Paris 3rd. 01 45 30 09 10. Jian Fei & Detox Combo, 55 minutes, €95.
The Head Spa by Leonor Greyl

Where? At Leonor Greyl locations, the pioneering French Head Spa brand. For more than 55 years, this French house has been enhancing hair with natural, high-performance, premium treatments, turning haircare into a truly sensory wellness experience.
The treatment we tried: the Head Spa by Leonor Greyl.
What is it? A tailor-made hair ritual combining a scalp diagnosis, treatments featuring natural active ingredients and relaxing massages to rebalance the scalp, strengthen the hair fibre and revitalise the hair from within.
The promise? A rebalanced scalp, revitalised hair and a genuine moment of relaxation.
The protocol: it all starts with a hair and scalp diagnosis using a micro-camera, allowing the scalp and hair fibre to be analysed in detail. A blend of oils and natural active ingredients, selected according to the individual needs of each head of hair, is then prepared on site and applied to the scalp. The treatment is left to work under a steam cap to activate the properties of the plants, followed by a relaxing shoulder massage. After a suitable shampoo and the application of an energising serum, cupping is used to stimulate the scalp. The ritual ends with a blow-dry, so you leave with beautifully enhanced hair.
The result: a revitalised scalp and hair, along with an immediate feeling of lightness. All within a relaxing experience worthy of the finest spas.
Head Spa by Leonor Greyl, 15 rue Tronchet, Paris 8th. 01 42 65 32 26. Open Tuesday to Thursday from 9:30am to 6:30pm, Friday from 9am to 6:30pm and Saturday from 10am to 5pm. Sessions range from €111 to €168 depending on hair length.
