We genuinely hesitated to gatekeep this address. Located at 5 rue d’Eupatoria, this little hidden gem in the 20th arrondissement feels like landing in Athens without ever leaving Paris. A sun-drenched terrace, an unbeatable view of Ménilmontant church, a neighbourhood atmosphere and, above all, instinctive Greek cuisine by Basile Eidel (formerly of Boucan): welcome to Eupatoria 5, the new Mediterranean restaurant to add straight to your Paris address book.
Before becoming a Greek restaurant, this was above all the home and hangout of Eva Pritsky, a well-known figure in Belleville-Ménilmontant whose secret bar attracted regulars who came to drink, read, listen to piano, put the world to rights and stay until dawn. Same spirit, new story: people come to this warm neighbourhood spot for a drink, dinner, a few plates to share or simply to linger on the terrace, with dishes ranging from €5 to €20 and an average bill of around €35, drinks included.
Greece on the plate

Former chef and owner of Boucan in Belleville, Basile Eidel serves up instinctive, generous and seriously flavourful cuisine, bringing Greek flavours into conversation with French produce. The menu is designed for sharing and changes with the seasons. What should you absolutely try? Our biggest favourite: the zucchini fritters with mild harissa (€8) and the mint and savory oil tzatziki (€5). Next comes grilled octopus, perfectly cooked and served with tomato and toum sauce (€18), orzo with creamy peas, smoked ricotta and Chinese eggplant (€15), and, above all, giant white beans with thyme, lemon and bottarga, which bring wonderful depth to the dish (€12). And because no Greek dinner should end without something sweet, the ouzo crème brûlée (€7) is the perfect way to round off the journey.
The same focus on character extends to the drinks. The wine selection, curated by Hakim Lainceur, champions committed producers and carefully selected bottles, exclusively from biodynamic and/or natural winemaking, such as this Weninger – Frantz Plays orange wine (2023), complex and wild, with stone fruit and spice notes (€42), or the Mas des Caprices – R.A.S red (2023), rich and spicy (€31). The perfect match for Greek dishes, with bottles that are just as far off the beaten track.
Open Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm to 1:30am, kitchen open until 11:30pm.
