3 niche labels for making ethical gifts

Ethical shops in Paris

The Christmas resolution this year: boycott the mass market and spoil our loved ones with clean beauty products purchased from Parisian designers. Good for the planet and for karma : that's the Christmas spirit !

Unbottled

Unbottled store ethique Paris

The mood: Life in plastic isn't fantastic… Especially when you know that less than 15% is recycled and the rest ends up in the oceans. Driven by Sarah Pouchet and Benjamin Legros , Unbottled broke through during confinement.

The brief: solid care , recyclable packaging , zero-defect ingredients. Bingo: the e-shop is quickly sold out . Phew: a shop has just opened in the Marais , a pop setting that breaks the codes of retail .

The perfect gift (for all generations): the Christmas box . Top to discover the

essentials, it includes a shampoo , a facial cleanser and a body soap (€74.90).

60 rue Vieille-du-Temple, Paris 3rd. Open Monday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

yodi

The Yodi ethical store Paris

The place: a stone's throw from the Arc de Triomphe , a smart lab -style shop designed by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte .

The high-tech touch : digital screens to carry out an express skin diagnosis.

And also: a sink to test the products in situ. Smart.

The mood: the green chemistry hype. Launched in 2021 by Hélène Azancot (ex-L'Oréal), Yodi is already becoming part of our beauty wardrobe . And for good reason: made in France , vegan , without water, preservatives, silicones and allergens … the brand ticks all the boxes. Yuka friendly formulas are ultra-concentrated in active ingredients.

On the red carpet: the ultra-foaming powder shampoo , the hair mask with aloe vera (a bomb), the vegetable retinol-like oil ...

The perfect gift (for lovers of beautiful scents): House of Yodi , a collection of natural interior sprays designed by Robertet house noses (€60). The madly elegant lacquered glass diffusers (€120) will also have a wow effect under the tree .

27 avenue Victor Hugo, Paris 16th. Open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Chic soaps

The chic des savons shop in Paris

The place: a pocket factory nestled in a former sculptor's workshop near Montparnasse . Monica and Cédric Théodule , the founding couple, develop chic soaps here with raw materials sourced with the greatest care. The workshop is not accessible to the public but the brand will soon have a corner at La Samaritaine .

The mood: the soap , elevated to the rank of a work of art . Each piece is lovingly shaped by hand in small batches using the cold saponification technique.

Drying time: six weeks. Vegetable butters and first pressing oils come from seeds and plants grown and picked in France and beeswax from Parisian hives.

The perfect gift (in ego trip mode): between the divinely scented face soap (€28) and the equally desirable make- up remover balm (€37), our hearts swing. As a result, we treat ourselves to the complete routine packaged like a princess in her tissue paper and wax-sealed case.
