The backdrop for Parisians' very first seaside escapes at the beginning of the 20th century, the endless beaches of Deauville and Trouville continue to lure city dwellers looking for a breath of fresh air just two hours from Paris. Some even come for a whirlwind day trip. Our advice? Stay two or three days to truly soak up the atmosphere, wander between seafood feasts, and treat yourself to a blissful spa day in one of Normandy's finest thalassotherapy resorts. Here's your ultimate guide.

Just steps from the Deauville Casino, Miocque has long been a favorite haunt for artists and celebrities, whose portraits once covered the walls. Now run by the Bourdoncle Group—the owners behind some of Paris' trendiest cafés (Le Charlot, Le Mabillon, Le Hibou...)—this iconic restaurant has been beautifully revamped with elegant wood paneling and plush red banquettes while preserving the timeless spirit that made its reputation. Upstairs, a cozy cocktail bar wrapped in carpet comes alive with DJ sets.

The celebrity photos have given way to elegant caricatures covering the walls from floor to ceiling, featuring everyone from Jean Dujardin and Johnny Hallyday to Vanessa Paradis and Coco Chanel. Don't miss the charming terrace, perfect for people-watching and enjoying one of Deauville's hottest addresses.

To start, we loved the marinated salmon "like herring" with warm potatoes (€17), the baby lettuce salad with avocado, green beans, strawberries and raspberries (€19), and crispy fried calamari with tartar sauce to share (€25).

The showstopper? The legendary Beef Wellington with Albufera sauce, generous enough for three people (€118). If you're dining solo, go for the perfectly cooked steak topped with a fried egg, pepper sauce and French fries (€27), or indulge in the lemon brown butter Dover sole (€64).

For dessert, don't miss the thin apple tart flambéed with Calvados (€15), silky caramel custard (€12), or fresh strawberries served with an indulgent helping of raw cream (€15). An unforgettable evening.

Barrière has done it again. Just a few steps from the legendary Normandy Hotel, along the famous Les Planches promenade lined with movie-star cabins, you'll find the charming Bar de la Mer—right after Gene Kelly's beach cabin.

Almost with your feet in the sand, grab a terrace table, sunglasses firmly on, and dive into comforting seafood favorites: Homer Lobster's lobster roll or lobster club sandwich (€25), Cajun chicken salad with feta, tomatoes and red onions (€24), sea snails with mayonnaise (€14), pink shrimp (€15), mussels with crispy fries (€24), or whole roasted sea bream (€38).

Housed in a former 19th-century convent (which also served as an orphanage), Les Franciscaines offers a rich cultural blend: exhibitions, a multimedia library, guided tours, creative workshops, concerts, and even Le Réfectoire, a chic canteen bathed in light, serving delicious locavore dishes (Sunday brunch and evening service during performances).
