Megève, long synonymous with French winter sports for over a century, has just welcomed the Novotel Megève Mont-Blanc in the Domaine de Meztiva. Here, guests discover a contemporary take on the mountain chalet, and no, you’re not dreaming : this charming, traditional Alpine chalet is indeed home to a Novotel-branded hotel ! Let’s take a look.
A Contemporary Chalet in a Prime Location
The first hotel from the brand in the Alps, this charming property sweeps away preconceived ideas. Its ideal location is immediately appealing : just steps from the main street and its dream boutiques, it sits directly opposite the largest sports and wellness complex in the Alps, the Palais Megève. A real bonus for hotel guests, who enjoy access to its many facilities, including an Olympic swimming pool, ice rink, and climbing wall. Practical touch : a private shuttle takes guests to the Chamois gondolas in just a few minutes.
From the moment you arrive, you can’t help but appreciate the strong Alpine identity of this 4-star, Green Key–certified hotel. “We wanted a contemporary, welcoming chalet with lots of wood, leather, natural fabrics, and as much light as possible,” explains Céline Moscheni from the Moha agency, in charge of the interior design. As a result, the lobby features cozy corners with armchairs covered in (faux) white fur and wooden shelving. The same warm atmosphere continues in the lounge bar with its wood-paneled walls, where guests settle into spacious armchairs and sofas near the fireplace to sip cocktails.
The hotel offers 92 rooms across various accommodation categories. All boast views over the village and the landscapes of Megève, along with locally inspired décor. We fell for Suite 112 : clad in wood and featuring exposed beams, it offers impressive ceiling height and a postcard-perfect view over Megève.
Last but not least, the Meztiva restaurant is worth a mention, especially for its large communal table – a godsend for families and groups – facing the open kitchen. While the menu includes classic dishes, we recommend opting for some well-executed creations with Savoyard flair: pike-perch quenelle, Reblochon cheese gratin tartine, brioche-wrapped diot sausage from Savoie, and for dessert, of course, a Paris-Megève.
Rooms from €316 in January, with half-board options available.
