It’s simply the most chic neighborhood in Paris, where one of the main pleasures is strolling around and admiring its elegant buildings and private mansions, architectural gems spanning from the Second Empire to the 1970s. From Place du Trocadéro to the Bois de Boulogne, via the charming Auteuil Village, the 16th arrondissement is home to some of the city’s most beautiful gardens and fascinating museums, as well as elegant terraces, gorgeous boutiques and cutting-edge fitness studios. Here’s our round-up of the must-see spots we never get tired of, along with the latest addresses worth name-dropping in good company.

Overlooking the very chic Place Victor Hugo, the terrace at Le Scossa is all about the art of a feel-good lunch. A chic yet relaxed atmosphere, impeccable service and an elegant crowd make it the perfect spot for a proper break in the sunshine. It’s the kind of place that works equally well for a quick lunch or a full-blown Parisian brasserie experience, led by chef David Crozat (formerly of Monsieur Bleu, Hôtel Costes and La Fontaine Gaillon), who clearly knows his way around high-end French cuisine. On the menu: Thai-style chicken spring rolls (€16.50), a smash burger with ultra-thin, crisp fresh fries (€28.50), Caesar salad (€25) or quinoa salad (€24). For dessert, the choice is between a chocolate fondant (€12.50) and French toast with red berries (€12).

Over in Victor Hugo, The Movemnt has established itself as the new fitness hotspot where people come as much for the results as for the beautifully designed setting. Soft lighting, clean lines, hotel-worthy changing rooms and an intimate atmosphere: everything here is designed to make you want to push your limits. On offer are Hot Pilates and Lagree classes, a lounge area to relax before or after your workout, and a recovery space to help your body bounce back. Our favorite class? Lagree Full Body: for 50 minutes, you work through slow, precise and seriously effective movements on the Megaformer, a machine that targets the muscles deep down thanks to its spring-based resistance system. The result: shaking legs, burning abs and hard-working arms. It’s an intense yet accessible workout that promises a full-body strengthening session and that unmistakable feeling of having given it everything… with guaranteed soreness the next day.

Just steps from the Palais Galliera, the Guimet Museum and the Alma Bridge—making it the perfect place for lunch before or after an exhibition—we discover Le Petit Chaillot, the new restaurant-bistro that has completely won us over. Red awnings, wooden tables and golden neon lights: this place ticks every box for a warm and welcoming neighborhood bistro. Since last May, Thomas Doublet and Guillaume Bequignon, two friends who are also behind Lulu’s café in Trocadéro, have set up shop in Chaillot with one ambition: to bring back the village atmosphere that once defined the neighborhood.

To start, order the delicious eggplant caviar with cumin pickles and toasted bread, or the savory tarte tatin with crème fraîche and caramelized leeks (€12). For the main course, we recommend the cod loin topped with chorizo sauce and served with potatoes, although the beef tartare with broccolini remains our absolute favorite (€22). Dessert is a tough call: madeleines (€12), XL profiteroles (€12) and molten chocolate cake (€12) are all competing for the top spot. And the bonus? The ice-cold cocktails, especially the Amaretto Sour—the bartender’s favorite—(€14) and the Pornstar Martini (€14).

A true country house in the heart of the 16th arrondissement. A timeless retreat, L’Auberge des Crus combines comfort and elegance, with beautiful touches such as silverware and Gien porcelain. Accompanied by the gentle crackle of the fireplace and the laughter of groups of friends, you can tuck into escargots (€11 for six), pâté en croûte with sweetbreads and foie gras (€14), a divine sirloin steak with béarnaise sauce for dipping your fries into (€33), or sausage and mash with foie gras, which has become a permanent signature on the menu (€28). The daily special might be melt-in-the-mouth poultry with morels.

And for dessert? The rice pudding comes topped with a generous layer of praline (€12), the perfect way to round off this thoroughly indulgent feast. Naturally, you’ll want to take the team’s advice when choosing a bottle of wine from the 18,000 bottles stored downstairs, with options for every budget starting at €32.

We’re obsessed with the floral creations at Eucalyptus Paris, whose lovely boutique manages to add a romantic touch to Porte de Saint-Cloud. Whether arranged in bouquets (from €40) or displayed under glass domes, these charming and distinctive local flowers captivate with their beauty and exquisite scents, available in a wide range of styles and colors. In spring, it’s impossible to resist combinations of tulips, ranunculus, anemones, peonies and alstroemerias, with every arrangement, of course, created in harmony with the seasons. Even better: the customizable flower subscriptions make a (very) beautiful gift for anyone who loves keeping their vases filled with fresh blooms. Exotic greenhouses and rose gardens to discover in the gardens of the 16th arrondissement

Bagatelle: a true Parisian secret, this botanical garden promises an incredibly romantic escape among lush vegetation, a monumental rose garden, grottoes, little bridges, a pagoda, rocks and waterfalls. Born out of a challenge between Marie Antoinette and the Comte d’Artois, this “bagatelle” miraculously sprang up in just 64 days, in the highly fashionable Anglo-Chinese style of the time, in contrast to the almost military symmetry of Le Nôtre’s gardens. 42 Route de Sèvres à Neuilly, Paris 16th. Jardin des Serres d’Auteuil: thanks to Louis XV, who was obsessed with botany, this exotic garden first came to life in 1761. Today, home to more than 1,000 species, both rare and spectacular, these extraordinary greenhouses invite you on a journey across continents, with giant palms, banana trees, colorful parakeets fluttering around the aviaries and countless other curiosities worthy of an earthly paradise. 3 Avenue de la Porte d'Auteuil, Paris 16th. Pré Catelan and Shakespeare Garden: in the heart of the Bois de Boulogne, we love wandering beneath its magnificent trees, picnicking on the soft grass and, in summer, taking a seat for a performance at the open-air theater. Actors perform in the great outdoors in a setting inspired by Shakespeare’s plays, alongside musicians who perform concerts there for an evening that feels nothing short of magical. Chic terrace and seafood platter at Flandrin brasserie in Paris’s 16th arrondissement

It doesn’t get much chicer than this! With white tablecloths, a glamorous crowd and plenty of sophistication, this brasserie celebrates the tradition of the great Parisian establishments, complete with a seafood counter and a sun-drenched terrace that continues to attract food lovers and stylish tourists alike.

Our favorite lunch option? The roast chicken and fries to share (€69), followed by a slice of its +1’s mille-feuille (€16). As for the name-dropping, at Flandrin quality extends all the way to the choice of producers, from Philippe Faur ice cream and Maison Verlet coffee to cheeses from the legendary Laurent Dubois.

Set in a beautiful garden overlooking the Eiffel Tower, this charming green-shuttered house is arguably the best-kept secret in the 16th arrondissement. Between 1840 and 1847, the author of La Comédie Humaine made his home here under the pseudonym “Monsieur de Breugnol”… in an attempt to escape his creditors!

Alongside exhibitions, workshops held throughout the year and a freely accessible library, the garden is also home to the adorable tea room run by Rose Bakery, serving up British-style treats including scones and dangerously addictive sandwiches.
