3 sublime hotels with their feet in the water

Hotels Pieds Dans L Eau

Take the train to escape. Find a hotel suspended over the sea. Book a room with a view that gives the impression of floating on the water. In short, take a marine shot as soon as you wake up and put on your swimsuit to swim after breakfast. Zoom on the three waterfront addresses for a getaway in symbiosis with the elements.

In the Mediterranean category: La Ponche in Saint-Tropez

It is undoubtedly the cutest and most authentic hotel in Saint-Tropez, nestled just opposite the Ponche beach (a little wonder in the middle of the city) and popular with Simone de Beauvoir , Romy Schneider , Brigitte Bardot , Françoise Sagan and the whole team in a family house spirit. Fabrizio Casiraghi signs the new Provençal and elegant decor of La Ponche with tommettes, attics and discreetly luxurious fabrics. Note: book a class with the Tiger Yoga Club to greet the sun from the pontoon, barefoot almost in the water.

The added bonus: the hotel has a restaurant with the young chef prodigy Thomas Danigo at the helm. We have very fresh lunch facing the sea on its incredible terrace: green asparagus from Provence (€26), sea bream ceviche with citrus fruits (€29), grilled catch of the day (€42) and light lemon cream (€16) , necessary. Also note: the possibility of ordering a picnic to embark for a boat day.

Superior double room from 572 €

In the Manche category: the Hôtel Flaubert in Trouville

At the edge of Trouville beach , this almost century-old institution has seen Alain Delon , Isabelle Huppert , Michel Galabru and Patrick Modiano parade . In a warm building like a family home, the reopening after works of the Hôtel Flaubert is the most awaited event for lovers of the coast. Inside, decorator Natalia Mégret signs an authentic design inspired by the famous 19th century novelist in a small Norman cocoon style with blue tones and decor found at The Socialite Family or Hartley & Tissier . Just beautiful.

The extra thing: the possibility of having an aperitif from the terrace of your room installed directly on the beach. Couldn't get any cooler.

Superior rooms with sea view from €270. Breakfast included.

In the Atlantic category: the Hôtel de la Plage in Biarritz

Here is the new must-go in Biarritz : the Hôtel de la Plage , located in the heart of old Biarritz with 20 rooms, 16 of which have a view of the ocean. We couldn't dream of a more perfect spot for the hotel, which overlooks the small beach of the old port, the place to be for those who like to see and be seen in the right place by the people who matter. Just go down the stairs to find your feet in the fine sand. The artistic direction has been entrusted to the talented Olivier Granet , already notable in the region for the Gaztelur : designed as a boutique hotel, there are unique and local tailor-made creations including stylish textiles from LRNCE and Ekka , wooden suspensions Lucas Castex and Mathieu Chavaren 's arty decor .

The added plus: no need to take the car to go to your favorite bar, the hotel culminates La petite plage with its amazing cocktail bar overlooking the beach. For an intimate atmosphere, head to the hotel's private rooftop , which offers a view of the Rocher de la Vierge, perfect for a wow sunset.

Hotel de la plage , 3 esplanade du Port Vieux, 64200 Biarritz. Opening scheduled for mid-June.
