Our exhibition: the wardrobe of Parisienne from the 30’s

Notre Expo Le Dressing D Une Parisienne Des Annees 30

While a lot of gals envy Carrie Bradshaw’s wardrobe, it pales in comparison to the one of Alice Alleaume, currently showcased at the Musée Carnavalet in the Marais. But who is this serious contender capable of competing with the fashion-victim of Sex & the City? Well she is a pretty socialite from the 30’s!

Just imagine exceptional pieces from the wardrobe of a woman who had the glamorous job of first sales person at Chéruit, one of the very first houses of Haute Couture.

Her evening dresses labeled Worth and Jeanne Lanvin, her customized shoes, her hats and precious jewels, are to be discovered during a totally fashion exhibition. In addition to clothing and accessories, there are photos and archive documents testimony of this Golden Age.

We like: a background showing the busy and enlightened life of this precursor fashionista, well anchored in the Parisian social scene.
