FIAC: incredible must-do arty events !

Fiac 2021

How to come across as a collector? Can you buy a work of art for only €5? Where to find a major work of art without queueing up? Can you spend an upscale evening without being bored by the pompous circle of contemporary art? Our very unusual and stylish visit of FIAC.

Buying a Buren with just € 5 on a stand at FIAC

The Collectors Boxes of Daniel Buren's la Vache qui Rit

It’s not a joke. If you cannot go home with a work of art worth one hundred thousand dollars under the arm form the Perrotin or Gagosian corner … The most modest, such as us, can always treat themselves to a Buren edition  on the Lab’Bel, stand at the Grand Palais.

Totally LOL, the artistic lab of the Bel group commissioned Daniel Buren to create Collector Boxes of Vache qui Rit cheese, thought out like art works entirely conceived by the artist… who plays with the 24 portion format in a wide array of colours, his claim to fame: he already “colourised” the Louis Vuitton Foundation, 3 years ago.  In short, a must-have small luxury. If only for the snobbism... Now you will have to decide if you want to spread them… or collect them as art objects!

5€ sold at the Fiac of the Grand Palais Thursday to Sunday the 20th of October.

A Rick Owens after party to book on the Pompidou Centre rooftop

The celebration of the inauguration of the FIAC at the Pompidou Center by Rick Owens

Who said contemporary art was hard to understand? The coolest party this Fall and of the FIAC, is the one organized by Beaubourg. No need to beg all over Paris of a freebee. Just buy it!

To inaugurate FIAC, the Pompidou Centre has handed over the keys of the venue to Rick Owens all evening long and during the night of Thursday the 17th of October. Joy! On the programme: an incredible fiesta performance at 11pm, followed by a big party with Rick Owens and his wife on the last floor of the museum that is morphing into the most trendy dancefloor of the week.

€ 35 for the After Party on amis.centrepompidou.fr.

A buzz on Place Vendôme with the pumpkin of Yayoi Kau

The inflatable pumpkin of Yayoi Kau and Takashi Murakami

Jewellers don’t have the monopoly of Place Vendôme. Like each year, FIAC Hors Les Murs is shaking up the Golden Triangle with a monumental work creating the buzz.

Carte blanche was given to Yayoi Kau, the most outstanding contemporary artist in Japan with Takashi Murakami. The plastician artist is showcasing a giant sculpture and her usual visual signature: an inflatable pumpkin with polka dots around the column!
