Just steps away from Trocadéro, the 16th arrondissement gains another remarkable culinary destination! Leading the way is restaurateur Michel Puech, already at the helm of the Andalusian eatery Carmona. At Sora, nestled in cozy surroundings, they celebrate a fusion of Japanese cuisine masterfully crafted by Italian chef Claudio Rotondo. A successful mix and match!

An Affinity for Eclecticism

Far from the simplicity of traditional Japanese design, Sora's interior decor, entrusted to the talented Isadora Viquel, showcases bold inspiration with a Riviera touch, skillfully incorporating vibrant colors. This enveloping space, adorned with fabrics and colorful prints from Pierre Frey, unveils delightful alcoves where one can gather around a round table. In a clever blend of styles, Sora harmoniously combines salmon-colored designer banquettes, Art Deco-inspired lighting, striped wallpaper on the walls and floor, a graphic carpet—a nod to Koi carp scales. The good news is that amidst this vibrant setting, you feel right at home!

Highlight: The Cocktail Bar

With its chic allure and graceful curves, the bar undeniably stands out as Sora's most alluring space, inviting guests to perch on its stools and indulge in Asian-infused cocktails before or after dinner. On the menu, the in-house mixologist has crafted exhilarating signature recipes, such as the 'Soleil Levant', a blend of vodka, cucumber, basil, apple, elderflower, wasabi, and ginger (€18). Note: The bar is a wonderful spot for an after-work gathering.

A Bridge Between Japan and the Mediterranean

In the kitchen, the penchant for fusion continues with an Italian duo at the helm: Chef Claudio Rotondo, who honed his skills at prestigious establishments like Bristol and Royal Monceau Raffles Paris, accompanied by his longtime companion Stefano Figurelli. Don't be surprised to find delicacies like bottarga-infused maki (€16) or a signature truffle-infused soba with stracciatella (€26) on Sora's menu!

Alongside these, perfectly executed Japanese classics grace the menu, such as cod tempura with a lively confit garlic mayo (€18), raw delights including an extraordinary sea bass carpaccio with soy pepper and lemon (€22), and the must-try black cod lacquered with miso (€46). For the vegetal enthusiasts, the miso-glazed eggplant (€12) and the spinach shoot salad with crunchy quinoa (€16) come highly recommended. To conclude the culinary journey, indulging equally in Japanese and Italian flavors, the delectable matcha tiramisu is the best choice (€14)!

Open Tuesday to Saturday from 12 pm to 3 pm and from 7 pm to 2 am. Closed on Sunday and Monday.
