Lou Doillon, Carla Bruni: star portraits by Kate Barry

Expo Kate Barry

A true homage to Kate Barry, this small exhibition will surely delight  Parisiennes, who will re-discover here fashion shoots featuring iconic French women, captured by the always kindly eyes, although at times melancolic, of Kate Barry. A perfect occasion for a marvelous stroll in Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

The muses of Kate Barry

The exhibit highlights a series of sensitive and intimate portraits by Kate. Starting with her muses, who she immortalizes like no one else: her sister Charlotte, in bed with a cigarette between her lips, or photos of Lou Doillon and Jane Birkin.

Mythical photos

One also rediscovers the famous snapshots that established the reputation of Kate Barry. Who does not remember the mythical cover or Carla Bruni’s first album, “Quelqu'un m'a dit”, or the family portrait of French cinema with Catherine Deneuve, Isabelle Huppert, Emmanuelle Béart and Virginie Ledoyen.

And of course, there are also photographs of Laetitia Casta or Vanessa Paradis as a dancer and Sophie Marceau languidly resting under the mythical painting by Ingres at the Louvre, “La Grande Odalisque” in the same position. Any resemblance...

Afterwards ? Why drop by for a drink at the Café de Flore or go for dinner at Lipp to run into all the French stars

Kate Barry : les iconiques de Kate, from the 8th of November to the 1st of December 2018, Galerie ArtCube, 9 Rue de Furstemberg 75006 Paris.
