3 free arty walks to enjoy the sunshine

The sun is back! What if you took the opportunity to enjoy a 100% free arty stroll through some of the capital’s most beautiful parks? From Parc Monceau to La Villette via the Luxembourg Gardens, here are 3 mini escapes to boost your cultural fix and soak up all the good vibes. Don’t forget your sunglasses!

Fragilities and Resilience at the Luxembourg Gardens

Here’s the perfect excuse for a lovely Left Bank walk: along the gates of the Luxembourg Gardens, you’ll discover stunning photographs by Thibault Gerbaldi. Freshly unveiled on March 21 as part of the Sénat’s cultural program, the exhibition Fragilities and Resilience features no fewer than 80 large-format shots captured across five continents. From shifting dunes to fragile icebergs, volcanic landscapes and portraits revealing humanity’s forced adaptability, the exhibition invites both escapism and reflection on how our everyday actions impact the other side of the world. A powerful journey to admire before or after soaking up the sun by the garden’s fountains.

Fragilités et Résiliences, from March 21 to July 19, 2026, on the gates of the Luxembourg Gardens, rue de Médicis, Paris 6th. Free access.

A trip to Asia… from Parc Monceau

Spending an afternoon wandering between the columns and willow trees of Parc Monceau is always a good idea. But did you know that one of Paris’s most romantic parks is home to the extraordinary Musée Cernuschi? Dedicated to Asian arts, it houses a stunning permanent collection that is entirely free to access, and even hosts free calligraphy demonstrations this spring by artist Lee Young-Sé (on March 21, April 25, and May 30). Right now, you can also catch an exhibition paying tribute to Park In-kyung, a painter renowned for her mastery of ink art. Celebrating her 100th birthday, the show invites visitors to explore her work, moving between figurative and abstract pieces.

Musée Cernuschi, 7 avenue Vélasquez, Paris 8th. Free access to permanent collections. Workshops without reservation, subject to availability. Open Tuesday to Sunday, 10am–6pm.

A surreal immersion at La Villette

What is that big blue pavilion rising in Parc de La Villette? While budget-conscious visitors can enjoy its striking, ultra-Instagrammable exterior for free—perfect for a picnic by the water—the more curious can buy a ticket to experience the mysterious immersive show held inside from Thursday to Sunday evenings. For one hour, LED walls bring to life a surreal Paris, blending dreams and reality, existing architecture and imagination. Magical! While you’re there, check out the free workshops offered by La Villette, including stylish activities for kids and group gardening sessions that are well worth trying.

Prodigy12, until April 25 at La Villette, 211 avenue Jean Jaurès, Paris 19th. Free park access, €26 for the immersive show, free for children.
