The most beautiful hotels in Haute-Savoie

Between the shimmering waters of Lake Geneva beneath an azure sky, the snow-dusted rooftops of Megève, and Lake Annecy veiled in delicate mist, Haute-Savoie becomes a poem of light in winter. The mountains don a white velvet cloak, villages glow, and shorelines sparkle—inviting pleasures range from skiing and crackling fireside moments to sometimes Michelin-starred gastronomy and cocoons so inviting you’ll never want to leave. Whether for a romantic escape or a family getaway, here is our selection of the most beautiful hotels in Haute-Savoie.

Lodge Park

Blending mountain authenticity with cosmopolitan elegance, Lodge Park stands out as one of the finest luxury hotels in Megève. Set in the heart of the village, this 5-star property from Maisons & Hôtels Sibuet reimagines the traditional chalet with a bold, adventurous lodge spirit. Deep hues, stylised trophies, patinated wood and tawny leather create a daring yet harmonious décor. A contemporary icon of alpine luxury, Lodge Park strikes a rare balance between energy, elegance and escapism—making Megève more desirable than ever.

The hotel features 6 rooms (25–43 sqm) and 22 suites (30–90 sqm, with lounge-fireplace and balcony or terrace), combining alpine charm with modern comfort. Highlights include the Lodge Cabin, tucked beneath the eaves with sweeping views of Megève’s church steeple, and the Deluxe Family Suite, prized for its generous proportions and master bedroom with fireplace.

At Beef Lodge, a high-end steakhouse, Chef Christophe Côte elevates exceptional cuts of meat in a candlelit setting where fire and stone converse. Le Bar du Lodge completes the gourmet experience with signature cocktails and refined finger food.

The new Longevity Spa – Pure Altitude x The Recode Club takes wellbeing to peak performance levels: cryotherapy, EMS, hyperbaric chamber, photobiomodulation and infrared sauna pair with alpine rituals for complete regeneration across 1,000 sqm of wellness space.

La Verniaz

Overlooking Lake Geneva and nestled within a leafy park, this 4-star address forms a charming hamlet between historic home and bucolic retreat. A former 17th-century Savoyard farm, it became a tea room in the 1920s under Auguste Florinetti, then a hotel in 1932. In the 1940s, Suzanne and Marcel Verdier turned it into a true institution, frequented by Elizabeth Taylor, Charlie Chaplin, Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin. Since 2021, Évian Resort has managed the property, preserving its soul.

Today, La Verniaz offers 35 rooms and suites plus six independent chalets accommodating up to eight guests, just five minutes from the lake. Aged wood, traditional décor and a cosy atmosphere make it feel like a home away from home.

The culinary scene shines again with the reopening of Le Bistrot de La Verniaz, serving generous, traditional cuisine focused on seasonal, high-quality ingredients—Lake Geneva fish and artisanal charcuterie from Simon Michoud—in a family-style setting. There’s also the private table Chez Auguste, a tribute to the founder and former tea room, hosting convivial lunches and dinners by the fireplace (think raclette or côte de bœuf). The bar surprises with its English—almost Scottish—pub feel, complete with tartan banquettes and a fine whisky collection. For spa lovers, Évian®SPA and Thermes Évian® are just steps away.

Les Trésoms – Lake and Spa Resort

On the shores of Lake Annecy, between crystal-clear waters and the Bauges massif, this 4-star hotel channels the charm of a 1930s Savoyard residence. Built in 1860 as a guesthouse before embracing Art Deco style, it’s where Chef Marc Veyrat once began his career. In 1998, Véronique and Pascal Droux revived the then-neglected property, restoring its former glory.

The 52 rooms surprise with colourful universes, sometimes adorned with large Art Nouveau portraits, blending dark wood and soft light, bespoke carpets, and—above all—spectacular views of the lake or Mont Veyrier. Two adjacent villas cater to families and groups: Comme un jardin, with a bucolic feel, and Comme un voyage, a poetic invitation to escape.

The 200 sqm spa extends the serenity with seven treatment rooms (Talgo Spa, Coelho Beauty, Douceur du Lac), a balneotherapy pool, sensory shower, sauna and hammam.

In the kitchens of the two restaurants is Éric Prowalski. At L’Atelier, he serves what he calls “optimistic” cuisine—between Savoyard classics and Italian Piedmont flavours—in a relaxed atmosphere. At La Rotonde, with its 180° views and Jeff Koons artworks, where Art Nouveau meets Art Deco, the chef fully showcases his talent and respect for produce, crafting precise, delicate plates inspired by his South-West roots and adopted Savoyard terroir.

L’Alpaga

Set on the mountainside, seemingly suspended between forests and peaks, L’Alpaga overlooks Megève, facing Mont Blanc and the Aravis range. This 5-star hotel from the Beaumier Collection blends alpine elegance with the contemporary soul of a discreet retreat. Spread across around ten traditional chalets, the property remains deeply connected to nature—snowy paths, resinous scents and the warmth of raw wood throughout.

Renovated by Charles & Co Studio, the décor champions authenticity: sanded pine walls, natural stone and woollen fabrics create a restrained yet sophisticated atmosphere. The 33 rooms and suites, all facing the mountains, continue this dialogue between comfort and horizon. Private chalets—ideal for groups—can host up to 15 guests.

The dark-stone spa reveals an indoor pool, hammam, fitness room and treatment cabins by Holidermie. Outdoors, a Swedish hot bath, barrel sauna and year-round heated pool open onto breathtaking landscapes.

At the heart of the estate is La Table de l’Alpaga, led by Michelin-starred Chef Alexandre Baule. Known for his sensitive cuisine, he revisits Savoyard terroir with, notably, a rare six-course vegetarian tasting menu at this altitude, inspired by the hotel’s own garden and guided by an eco-conscious philosophy. Le Bistrot de l’Alpaga offers relaxed comfort food, while the bar’s forest-inspired cocktails—infused with herbs and conifers—are as surprising as they are soothing.
