Cuddle Up in a Cozy Secret Bar

Gift shopping, wind in your hair, scarves up to your ears… What if this December you treated yourself to a well-deserved break in the comfort of a beautiful hotel ? On a quiet street in the 6th arrondissement near Saint-Placide — just steps from the best Christmas-shopping boutiques, hides the discreet 4-star Victoria Palace. Inside, its James Bar is the perfect snug hideaway with its velvety green interior, billiard table and adorable leafy patio. In winter, we love slipping inside for a warm, restorative break under the kind eye of Apollonia, the bar captain who handcrafts her own syrups, infusions, liqueurs and bitters.

Among her specialties: the White Negroni with jasmine-tea liqueur, the Manhattan infused with Tonka bean, distant-leather liqueur and black cherry syrup, or one of Paris’s best Espresso Martinis made with coffee liqueur (€19). Prefer alcohol-free options? Go for the Flower Spritz with elderflower, fresh lemon juice and organic jasmine-flower syrup (€16), or even a Pascal Hamour hot chocolate (€6) or latte macchiato (€6). But our seasonal crush remains the homemade chai latte, pumpkin spice latte, and golden latte (€7). Pure bliss!

Le James Bar du Victoria Palace, 6 rue Blaise Desgoffe, Paris 6e.
01 45 49 70 00. Open Monday to Friday from 4:30 pm to midnight; Saturdays and Sundays from 12:30 pm to midnight.

Book a Haute-Couture Brunch

When the virtuoso of panettone teams up with the master of caviar, the result is one of the season’s most refined holiday experiences. Christophe Louie joins forces with Maison Petrossian to offer a unique, ephemeral brunch blending artisanal bakery expertise and the excellence of black gold. The event takes place this weekend at the Petrossian restaurant in the 7th arrondissement, celebrating these divine, cloud-soft Italian brioches — Christophe Louie’s are by far the best in Paris — and Petrossian caviar you could eat by the spoonful. A small-scale lunch for just 40 guests.

On the menu: avocado & caviar pizette on a slice of panettone cacio e pepe; Eggs Benedict with salmon and salmon roe atop lemon-ricotta panettone. For dessert, chocolate-caviar madeleines promise surprising and delightful contrasts. Everything comes with fresh juices, tea and Petrossian infusions, plus the essential champagne option. A suspended moment of audacity, excellence and refinement. And to prolong the pleasure at home, stop by the adjacent boutique for the Black Truffle & Farmhouse Gouda Panettone, another masterpiece of their collaboration and a perfect festive dish.

Christophe Louie x Petrossian Brunch, Restaurant Petrossian, 13 boulevard de la Tour Maubourg, Paris 7e. Saturday December 13 & Sunday December 14 from 11:30 am. €85 per person — booking only via this link.

Harness the Power of Stones… on Your Jacket!

For our favourite fashionistas, we found a gem opening its pop-up just before the holidays — of course in our beloved Marais. Nicha Paris promises to win you over with both its elegant silhouettes and its remarkable philosophy. Founder Charlène Vervoitte, a designer trained in the ateliers of Lanvin, crafts everything in France using dormant luxury-house fabrics, reworked with precision. The magic touch? She embellishes each piece with fine stones that close, enhance and complete the design, transforming each garment into an actual jewel. The result: a refined, feminine, modern wardrobe.

Our must-haves? With our obsession for pussy-bow shirts, resistance is futile: the Kiama shirt (€435), especially in the dark-blue-almost-black shade with fine stripes and mother-of-pearl black buttons. One thing we love about Nicha is the almost bespoke personalization: choose your fabric, your pearls, and create a piece truly your own. The Fairhaven dress (€545) is pure charm — an ample A-line cut ending above the knee, bare shoulders and pearls outlining the neckline. Stunning in summer on sun-kissed skin, just as cool in winter layered over a turtleneck. Ultimate crush: the Avalon jacket (€595), an oversized blazer reinvented as a cropped top, closed with a delicate pearl chain. Strikingly modern — perfect for both office-day power dressing and stylish drinks with friends.

Nicha, 16 rue des coutures St-Gervais Paris 3e.  Open until December 23, 11 am–7:30 pm.

The setting is enchanting: soft music, dim lighting, monumental sculptural vases… An almost mythological atmosphere where you feel like a timeless muse.

For those who want to extend the experience, it’s possible to book an exclusive treatment created with the French house Yon-Ka, expert in phyto-aromatic rituals. We tested the Energy Glow treatment (€175), a 60-minute vitamin-rich ritual that deeply revitalises the skin, smoothes the texture and instantly boosts radiance. A total beauty escape designed to pamper, relax and leave you glowing. Goodbye Sunday blues!

Admire Neapolitan Self-Portraits

After her latest artistic residency in the heart of Naples, Kourtney Roy unveils La Volpina at Galerie des Filles du Calvaire — a series of striking self-portraits taken in the backstreets of the Italian city. These photographs show a lesser-seen side of Naples, far from tourist clichés, with playful pop colors and a distinctly cinematic feel.
Between flamboyant female figures, loud-colored outfits, and bold settings, the high-voltage artist deconstructs the dreamy fantasy of Italy to reveal its raw, theatrical, and utterly charming identity. More than a simple photo exhibition, La Volpina feels like a film you get lost in — where Kourtney provokes, questions, and continues to build her own mythology, filled with illusions and beautifully decayed glamour. Our crush: Piazza Mercato, where a dark-haired Kourtney in a red sequin dress almost outshines the iconic square itself.

Kourtney Roy - La Volpina. Until December 20 Galerie des filles du Calvaire, 21 rue Chapon, Paris 3e. Free entry, open Wednesday to Saturday 11 am–6:30 pm and Tuesday from 2 pm.

The menu blends classic bistro heritage with modern indulgence: iconic starters (œufs mayo, sautéed cèpes, scallops with maître d’hôtel butter), daily specials (hello, turbot fillet €36), and homemade desserts like the irresistible pear Belle Hélène tart (€9). When night falls, the place comes alive: natural wines, house cocktails, and lively table gossip  the vibe is vibrant and joyfully convivial. A true local favorite from the morning coffee to the last drink of the night.

Admire the Beauty of Stones

You may not know his name, but Roger Caillois – writer, sociologist, and religion expert – authored more than sixty captivating works. Fascinated by natural sciences and completely obsessed with stones, he began an extraordinary collection in the 1950s. About 200 of his mineral wonders are now on display at L’École des Arts Joailliers, supported by Van Cleef & Arpels, showcasing nature’s breathtaking poetry side-by-side with Caillois’ writings.

Agate, quartz, anorthite, fluorite, limestone : each piece displays astonishing patterns and colors so precise you’d think a human crafted them… but no. Among the treasures of the exhibition Rêveries de pierres : Poésie et minéraux de Roger Caillois, you’ll find his gem-set academic sword, an agate shaped like a storm-tossed ship, and the famous “Little Ghost” : we’ll let you guess why.

Bonus : children’s workshops and a free downstairs exhibition with stunning photographs by Juliette Agnel, part of Photo Days.

Exposition « Rêveries de pierres : Poésie et minéraux de Roger Caillois » à L’École des Arts Joailliers. From Nov 6, 2025 to Mar 29, 2026. Open from Tuesday to Sunday, 11:00–19:00 (late opening Thu until 21:00). Free with reservation.

His exhibition Wish This Was Real – his first solo show in France – offers a poetic stroll through vivid, emotional scenes where colour and humanity intertwine. More than a reimagining of history, it’s a gesture of reclamation : Mitchell envisions luminous alternate worlds where Black individuals exist freely, beyond imposed narratives. Our favourite ? The striking portrait Untitled (Topanga II).

Tyler Mitchell – Wish This Was Real. Maison Européenne de la Photographie, 5-7 rue de Fourcy, Paris 4e. Open weekends 10am–8pm, Thursday 11am–10pm, Wednesday & Friday until 8pm. Tickets: €14 full / €9 reduced / free for under-12s. Tickets online

Fall in Love with Paloma Wool

The Barcelona-based label Paloma Wool is finally back in Paris after last summer’s quick pop-up, this time settling in for more than two months in the heart of the Marais. The brand’s body-hugging cuts and ultra-soft fabrics are presented like art pieces within a minimalist, gallery-like decor by Max Milà and Altea Amorós, the duo behind their New York and Barcelona boutiques.

On display : the Autumn-Winter 2025 collection, with new drops each week, and for the first time, Paloma Wool Man, the line dedicated to menswear.
Our favorites ? The adorable Carmen baby shoes (€215), the perfectly tailored Bruna shirt (€170), and the quirky Line shorts (€190).
A golden opportunity for Parisian fans to finally experience the brand’s craftsmanship in person, a first in France for pieces that were, until now, only available online.

Paloma Wool pop-up, 84 rue de Turenne, Paris 3e. Open daily 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. until December 24.

Indulge at the new gourmet spot in the 9th

After working alongside Bruno Doucet, Rémi Lazurowicz has been delighting Rue Marguerite de Rochechouart for years with his bistronomic Comptoir 47, reborn in 2024 as Lazu. Just across the street, he has now opened Comptoir Lazu, the future go-to address for gourmets in the 9th arrondissement (and beyond…). A pocket-sized gem serving flavor-packed plates.

But first, what a setting! We instantly crush on the wild Piet Mondrian light fixture, the vintage Roland Garros poster, and the terrazzo floor that’s totally on trend.

The menu keeps seducing us with heart-stealing dishes at friendly prices: roasted and raw zucchini with stracciatella (€12), beef tataki with pepper jus and ponzu eggplant (€17), ricotta gnudi with salsa verde and bell pepper (€14), or the fresh and original crudo of meagre and apricot with aguachile sauce (€18). Oyster fans will adore Rémi’s signature version topped with apple gel and dill (€9). Our top pick? Save room for the signature LAZU chocolate mousse with Espelette pepper (€9). Bonus: the counter is open non-stop from breakfast to dinner.

Comptoir Lazu, 36 rue Marguerite de Rochechouart, Paris 9th. Open Tuesday to Saturday, 8am–midnight.

Learn fashion drawing… on a boat!

All aboard for the “Fashion Design” workshop—literally! This creative class takes place on a boat moored at the Port des Champs-Élysées. Picture yourself sketching with a view of the Pont de l’Alma and the Eiffel Tower. Pretty chic, right?

Guided by Iveta and Quentin, you’ll first learn the basics of human figure drawing (keeping proportions in check), before moving on to stylized silhouettes, just like couture sketches. Books featuring fashion collections will be available for inspiration, but nothing beats gazing at the Seine and soaking up Paris as your muse. Each participant leaves with their own creations—maybe you’ll be the next great couturier?

Learn to shape ravioli

Saturday, it’s ravioli! There are still spots left for a 2.5-hour cooking workshop all’italiana with Claudio, a transalpine chef passionate about the cuisine of Puglia and Sardinia who masters the art of ravioli like no one else. We bring along our guy / our BFF / our chef buddy (cross out the unnecessary) for a really fun class in the 11th, around Voltaire. But first, we start by getting to know each other and learning the basics over a glass of Prosecco – or a sparkling drink for the soberistas – to go with some cheeses from the Boot.

Let’s go for the making of fresh pasta, learning the real gestures and tips whispered in mamma’s kitchen. Then we work on the sauce and filling, before it's tasting time! P.S.: don’t forget to bring a tup’ to take home the leftover pasta.

Tasting Brittany in the heart of the Marais

2nd round for the sibling duo Albane and Baptiste Lamotte, who already brought us Galette Café in the 7th! Their new baby Ty Coz, both a crêperie and oyster bar, is establishing itself as the new 100% Breton spot in the Marais. To enjoy some sweet treats and briny products that could transport any Parisian to the pretty corsair city of Saint-Malo, head over near Parc Royal!

Ty Coz, "family home" in Breton, turns out to be the perfect name for this new place that smells like holidays in Finistère. After the success of Galette Café, the family is growing with, this time, a more polished décor for which architect Sylvie Zerat has designed every detail like a living space where you feel at home. Special mention for the terrace overlooking Parc Royal! Start by ordering oysters, especially the plump Étoile Kys n°3 (€20 for 6), then melt for the galette with Andouille de Guémené, delightfully indulgent, served with its onion compote and creamy cider sauce, unless you go for the version with smoked salmon, potatoes with vinaigrette, and seared red onions (€16.90). Stretch the pleasure with a crêpe filled with salted butter caramel and vanilla ice cream (€9.50), or a Suzette flambéed with Grand Marnier (€11)… Yum! The must: Ty Coz offers a take-away version of their galettes but also of their ice cream sundaes (€9.50): perfect for sunny days.

Ty Coz, 4 rue du Parc Royal, Paris 3rd. Open Tuesday from 12pm to 4pm, Wednesday to Saturday from 12pm to 11pm, and Sunday from 12pm to 5pm.

Play the best web concepts IRL

A leisure bar right in Paris where you dive into the craziest Internet and TV show concepts? That’s the idea behind Merci Internet, a new place for socializing and uncontrollable laughter, nestled in the 9th arrondissement. We’ve all boasted at least once in front of a YouTube video concept or a TV game show, thinking we’d do better than the contestants. Guess what? Now’s the time to test yourself — and your BFFs.

Meet at this new feel-good address, where private rooms are waiting just for you to go wild with the most popular concepts from YouTube or streaming sites. Our recommendation: the brilliant "Who has the best alibi?", inspired by the best duo escaping prison concept, aka the hit videos from king Squeezie. You put on the hat of a police inspector or a suspect, and get ready for the best interrogations or the worst lies to win. Also to discover: a boozy cooking class (hi Les Recettes Pompettes), or a mini "Qui rit sort". After the fun part, settle into the bar area to sip cocktails inspired by Internet culture, and wait to receive your video of the best moments of the game. A new playful spot in an aesthetic setting signed Uchronia (who also designed the wild addresses of Café Nuances) to create memories… and content. Ready, set, play!

Merci Internet, 6 rue Marguerite de Rochechouart, Paris 9e. Open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Fridays from 2 p.m. to 1 a.m., Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 2 a.m., and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. From €30 per player.

This is the sexiest dinner right now, perfect for a large table of 6 to 8 people. Hidden at the back of our favorite restaurant Rivages at Sofitel Le Scribe Paris Opéra, a charming room now hosts highly exclusive dinners combining the talents of Chef Martin Simolka and Head Bartender Roberto Catalano. Once a month on Fridays (the grand premiere will take place this January 31!), the two accomplices prepare an exceptional four-hands dinner right before your eyes, lasting approximately 2h30 (€150 per guest). While Martin presents his dishes, Roberto, stationed at the other end of the table, creates signature cocktails paired to enhance the flavors of the meal.

On the menu of this wildly chic and delightful six-course meal: a spectacular beef tartare, a white pearl oyster with passion fruit lemon granita, and scallops with hazelnut condiment, among other delicious and colorful surprises we’ll keep secret for now. The fun part: Roberto shares his best Parisian addresses for finding the rare spirits he uses in his concoctions. Their infectious camaraderie puts the whole table in an incredibly joyful mood, making the evening feel like an intimate gourmet dinner at home. This is an experience to share with your favorite food-loving crew.

Create Your Own Artsy Rug

For 2025, minimalism stays in the closet! Let’s jazz up our interiors with designs as quirky as they are chic, mixing vintage finds with handcrafted pieces. What could be better than a 100% personalized rug to bring life and stories into your space?

Head to the 5th arrondissement of Paris to try tufting—a trendy craft that lets you create a rug using a yarn gun. Start by choosing your design, colors, and yarns. Guided by Siyi, you’ll craft your rug by first tracing your design on the canvas, then unleashing your inner artist. Add the finishing touches: cutting, gluing the backing, shaving, and voilà! Your dream rug is ready.

Bonus: For an additional fee, you can also create tufted cushions, mirrors, or bags.

From Place de la Concorde to the Louvre Pyramid and the Tuileries Gardens, treat yourself to a half-day of Beaux-Arts vibes, wandering through Paris’s most iconic spots and stopping only to sketch the beautiful views on paper. No matter your level—from beginner to seasoned Picasso—everyone is welcome to dive into the art of drawing during this inspiring and fun experience, filled with fascinating anecdotes shared by your guide/teacher of the day. You’ll leave ready to be showcased in a museum after learning the techniques of comic strip drawing, floral motifs, and perspective during this 3-hour session. No need to bring anything: all materials are provided.

The Extra Tip: If you’re feeling especially arty, head to the nearby Musée des Arts Décoratifs. You’ll have the choice between their incredible exhibit on the theme of intimacy or the glittering displays honoring Christofle, the historic silversmithing house.

Nothing beats a hands-on activity for a break from daily life and a moment of pure relaxation. And what could be better than creating your own bouquet with passionate florists, enhancing both your spirit and home decor? How it goes: From the moment you arrive, Camille, Solenne, or one of their talented team members greets you. The vibe is set: conviviality, laughter, and plenty of cheer, all over a hot drink. Next, dive into the floral world: seasons, origins, pro tips… it’s all covered! After the brief intro, it’s your turn. Choose your flowers from a carefully curated selection and create the bouquet of your dreams with fresh, seasonal flowers.

Extra tip: Once your creation is finished, the team shares expert advice on keeping it fresh in a vase or drying it like a pro.

Learn the Art of Felted Figurines

If you hate seeing your little ones glued to their tablets, whisk them away to Yu-Ching’s workshop. On the menu: discovering the art of felted wool. You’ll be able to create your own adorable figurine with just the strength and dexterity of your hands!

Upon arrival, the artist presents her workshop and tools, then introduces the themes for the little creations: forest animals, dinosaurs, culinary temptations... You’ll learn the basics of needle felting (don’t worry, the needle doesn’t hurt—it’s used to shape the wool!) to craft your personalized figurine. Have fun mixing colors to make a funky bird, muffin, or dino. The best part? You’ll take your creation home, along with the know-how. It’s the perfect plan to occupy those rainy afternoons and build your army of felted wool figurines!

The extra touch : if your artistic endeavors leave you hungry, we’ve got the perfect snack! Head over to Sürpriz to bite into a mouth-watering kebab packed with meat from Mehmet, the best butcher in Berlin, whose meat is coveted by all kebab vendors.

Customize your dishes DIY style

Our favorite for the weekend: a ceramic painting workshop to keep your little ones busy! Head over to Céramicafé Geneviève in the 11th arrondissement for a 100% creative experience. Choose from a bowl, cup, or plate as the canvas for your masterpiece. Geneviève, the ceramic expert, will demonstrate various painting techniques and guide you through the process to ensure your designs are as realistic and beautiful as possible.

At the end of the workshop, your creations will head to the 1,000-degree kiln! You'll need to be patient though: your artwork will be ready for pickup in a week, perfect for showing off at grandma's house!

Bonus : After the workshop, visit Pépite, the amazing bakery in the Faidherbe area. We highly recommend their Cookie Ball for €3.70 – a little bomb of deliciousness!
