Design and Luxury Hotels in Madrid : Our Curated Selection

The Spanish capital is an ideal destination for a romantic weekend, a family getaway, or a trip with friends. With countless cultural activities and a pleasant climate from spring to autumn, Madrid has it all. Here is our selection of recent, high-quality hotels, combining design, comfort, and luxury.

Brach Madrid

Located on the iconic Gran Vía, Madrid’s main artery, Brach Madrid immediately stands out. This latest gem from the Evok Group, designed by Philippe Starck, is housed in a 1920s building and makes a bold statement from the moment you arrive. Forget any idea of déjà-vu : Brach Madrid is not a copy of Brach Paris. Starck reinvents the codes with a warm, eclectic, and vibrant décor.

The ground-floor restaurant sets the tone with mahogany walls, braided leather ceilings, glazed terracotta tiles, and natural leather seating. Large display cases showcase artworks, echoing a time when artists paid their stay with paintings, some even depicting Gabriel García Lorca.

In the kitchen, Chef Adam Bentalha delivers a Mediterranean-inspired menu with Middle Eastern notes, while iconic Brach Paris dishes are revisited with a Spanish twist, including the famous ham croquettes, considered among the best in Madrid. Pastries by Chef Fabien Emery are simply outstanding.

The same lively yet intimate atmosphere extends to the 57 rooms and 4 suites, decorated with handwritten sketches, leather headboards, and eclectic objects ranging from boxing gloves to castanets. For wellness lovers, La Capsule spaoffers a serene, all-white setting accented with gold tiles, featuring treatments by myBlend and Clarins Precious, a 20-meter indoor pool, infrared sauna, hammam, and flotation bath—a must among 5 star hotels in Madrid.

The plus : Suites with private terraces, designed like cozy living rooms with curated greenery and soft lighting.

It occupies seven historic buildings dating from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, just steps from the city’s main attractions. Original elements such as a 1920s glass dome and former bank vaults turned into jewelry displays blend seamlessly with contemporary luxury and art.

The 200 rooms and 40 suites combine wood, marble, beige tones, and cutting-edge technology, including iPads and gesture-controlled curtains. The standout? Room 578, a suite-like space with a wood-paneled dressing room and a vast white marble bathroom featuring Hermès amenities.

On the top floor, Dani, by three-Michelin-starred chef Dani García, showcases traditional Andalusian cuisine. Isaoffers Asian-inspired tapas, while El Patio serves timeless classics and indulgent desserts.

The all-white lobby, illuminated by cascading golden chandeliers, opens onto the glass-roofed Palm Court, the place to see and be seen. The 153 rooms and 53 suites feature herringbone parquet floors and refined neutral tones. A charming detail : pillows embroidered with guests’ initials.
