Ceci n’est pas une énième cantine asiate de plus à Paris. Non, non. Ipppudo, c’est le monument historique du ramen revisité au Japon, inventé par Shigemi Kawahara dit le “King Of Ramen”, dans les années 80 à Hakata et qui cartonne à Londres, Tokyo et New-York.

De quoi justifier l’engouement absolu des Parisiens pour cette nouvelle adresse à Odéon et la queue parfois longue pour avoir la chance de goûter à ce plat désormais culte. Bref un véritable voyage dans le Japon branché.

Il faut dire qu’ici, on deale les ramen les plus crazy du monde, qu’on customise à gogo (oeuf, viande…). A commencer par la soupe tradi à tomber Shiromaru (12€), un bouillon avec noodle maison, poitrine de porc, et champi ou la délicieuse version veggie “Akamaru” (13€) : un bouillon de légumes à l’huile de truffe aux shiitake (champignons jap’) + nouilles au paprika, eringi, betterave et fenouil. Une dinguerie.

Notre chouchou ? Le Ramen new age Akamaru (13€). Un bouillon et nouilles au sésame, ciboule, sauce umami et huile de koyu. De la pure “souf food” nippone.

A tester absolument : le Hirata Bun façon bao sandwich jap avec porc crunchy, mayo spicy et crudités (4€). Une folie qui s’arrose d’une bière jap ou d’un spectaculaire vin de prune ou de saké.

A noter : l’ouverture très prochaine d’une 2e adresse à Montorgueil.

Ouvert tous les jours de midi à minuit sf dimanche jusqu’à 22h30. Pas de réservation.

This is not yet another Asian cantina in Paris. No, no. Ipppudo is the historical Ramen-revisited in Japan, invented by Shigemi Kawahara-aka the “King Of Ramen”, during the 80’s in Hakata and that is creating the buzz in London, Tokyo and New York.

And this is why Parisians have literally fallen in love with this concept….and it also justifies the occasionally long queue to have the chance of tasting this now cult dish, served in an Odéon cantina that feels like a real voyage in Japan.

Here you will find the wildest ramen in the world, to customized according to your whims (oeuf, viande…). Starting with the delicious traditional Shiromaru soup (12€), a broth and with home-made noodles, pork, mushrooms or the delicious “Akamaru” veggie version (13€): a veggie broth with truffle oil and shiitake mushrooms, noodles with paprika, eringi, beet, fennel. It’s truly incredible.

Our darling? The new age Akamaru Ramen 13€ Soup of tonkotsu, home-made noodles, chashu, kikurage sésame mushrooms, chives, umami sauce and koyu oil. Pure Japanese “soul food”.

To be tested absolutely: the Japanese style bun with crunchy pork, spicy mayo and raw veggies (4€)—fab. To be washed down with a Japanese beer, plum wine or saké.

To be noted: the upcoming opening of a 2nd address in Montorgueil.
