funny story

Founded in 2014 by two individuals from Dijon, this unisex ready-to-wear brand has achieved real success thanks to its slogan, 'Not in Paris Madame,' which can be found on tote bags, t-shirts, and caps. Maxime and Dany, the two creators, had the desire to prove that talent comes from everywhere and not just from big cities like Paris. In fact, Drôle de Monsieur now works closely with many artists from around the world.

The inspiration? Heavily influenced by the 70s and 90s, the clothing adorned with bold prints and patterns pays homage to the childhood of the two young designers, who were influenced by the arrival of rap and hip-hop in France.

The drôle de Monsieur store in the Marais in Paris

It's as if you've stepped into the lobby of a grand hotel. Woodwork, velvet tapestries, golden brass, marble... This space has been created in the ambiance of a timeless lounge, bridging the gap between lifestyle and fashion. The grand bar and its crystal bottles immerse us in a Gatsby-esque atmosphere, intimate and warm, blending Art Deco with 90s street culture. Everything has been carefully thought out by the founders, who mix designer furniture with vintage pieces: a selection of vinyl records from Stevie Wonder, Miles Davis, Lunatic, or Charles Aznavour, a portrait of Mike Tyson, and the vintage Adidas roller skates you'll want to take home...

The retro-looking clothes with houndstooth patterns, corduroy, or tartan fit perfectly into this environment that blends the codes of modernity and vintage.

The collections are designed as a tribute to sportswear, such as skateboarding, breakdancing, and even tennis and golf, with a modern French touch. 'Drôle de Monsieur is a love letter to the street and what it represents, a place of expression for the youth, a place of dreams, energy, and ambition.'

Our favorites: the Dîner shirt with its beautiful design (€250), the knit jacket with its small collar (€425), the Voyage hoodie in cream color (€190), and the Corduroy Drôle tote bag with embroidery (€60).

Open from Tuesday to Saturday from 11 am to 7 pm and on Sundays from 2 pm to 7 pm.
