En matière de cuisine japonaise, compliqué de mieux faire que Megu, le restaurant nippon à New York et Moscou que tout foodista normalement constitué rêverait de tester. Car dixit les plus grands critiques gastronomiques, Megu serait « parmi les meilleurs restaurants du monde ». Voilà qui est dit.

La petite nouveauté, c’est qu’il n’est désormais plus nécessaire d’atterrir à JFK pour avoir droit de gouter à ce graal culinaire… La table déjà mythique débarque en Europe à l’hôtel The Alpina Gstaad sur les chic-issimes cimes de la station de sport d’hiver, pouvait-il en être autrement ?

C’est l’extraordinaire designer Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance qui a planté le décor bluffant de cette maison japonaise en Suisse. Un lieu tout en bois de sapin et décoré de kimonos anciens, inspire des temples de Kyoto parfaitement intégré à l’atmosphère des Alpes…

Expérience, expérience, et qu’est ce qu’on y mange ? Le Chawanmushi (un flan salé) et le Shabu Shabu (une sorte de fondue). Mais encore ? Des asperges croquantes pannées aux crackers de riz japonais au piment et citron, servies à la verticale comme des sucette piquées sur un support en céramique japonaise , le carpaccio de boeuf Wagyu au basilic, la salade orientale MEGU, la morue argentée au Yuzu Miso et les croquettes de boeuf Wagyu au foie gras ou encore des crêpes au thé vert.

When it come to Japanese cuisine, it’s hard to do better than Megu, the must-go restaurant in New York and Moscow that any foodista living up to their reputation dreams of testing. Because according to leading food critics, Megu is « amongst the best restaurants in the world». So be it.

The small novelty, it’s no longer necessary to land in JFK to have the right to taste this culinary grail… The already mythical table is landing in  Europe at the Hotel Alpina on the ultra peaks of Gstaad, could it be any different ?

It’s the amazing designer Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance who planted the bluffing decor of this Japanese house in Switzerland. A place all in pine wood and decorated with ancient kimonos, inspired by Kyoto temples perfectly integrated to the Alpine atmosphere…

Experience, experience, and what does one eat ? Chawanmushi (a salty pudding) and the Shabu Shabu (a sort of fondue). Crispy MEGU asparagus, carpaccio of Wagyu beef with basil, the oriental MEGU salad, silver cod with Yuzu Miso and nuggets of Wagyu beef with foie gras.
