A Dream Hotel with Michelin-Starred Dining Just 2 Hours from Paris

Car-free, refined, gourmet, and serene: Fleur de Loire is the dream hotel created by Michelin-starred chef Christophe Hay, nestled in the heart of Blois with views of the Loire River. This elegant Relais & Châteaux property boasts 44 rooms, an outdoor pool, a two-Michelin-star restaurant, a second fine-dining venue with more accessible menus, and even a delightful épicerie-pâtisserie where you can stock up on homemade cakes and terrines. We experienced a romantic escape rooted in the rich terroir of the Loire Valley…

A Romantic Hideaway

Housed in a former U-shaped hospice, Fleur de Loire offers a soothing atmosphere thanks to its airy spaces (clean lines, soft tones) and flawless service—attentive yet never overbearing. Rooms are designed as cozy nests for couples, perfect for a quiet retreat before enjoying cocktails at the stylish lounge-like bar downstairs. Outdoors, guests can dive into the pool with panoramic Loire views, stroll along the riverbank, or explore the chef’s open-access vegetable garden.

Fine Dining at Its Best

As maître de maison, Christophe Hay has made gastronomy the centerpiece of Fleur de Loire. No need to dine elsewhere: between the bar, the inviting Amour Blanc restaurant (lunch menu €41), the pâtisserie-épicerie, and the two-Michelin-starred table (also holding a Green Star), food lovers are in for a treat. A Loire Valley native and grandson of farmers, Hay tends his own garden as carefully as his prized wagyu cattle.

Inspired by both his homeland and travels across Asia and Latin America, the chef crafts breathtaking menus at his eponymous restaurant (from €110). Highlights include carrot royale with fine poultry stuffing, snowball turnip mullet, his signature Carpe à la Chambord (stuffed carp with crayfish, mushrooms, farmhouse bacon, in Cheverny wine sauce), millefeuille-style sirloin, and strawberry-pine desserts. His poetic cuisine elevates the stay into an unforgettable gourmet journey.

Getting There from Paris

For Parisians who’d rather skip the car, the trip couldn’t be easier. A direct train from Gare d’Austerlitz to Blois-Chambord takes just 1h45. From there, it’s a 20-minute stroll across the Loire and through the historic town center to reach Fleur de Loire.

From €320 per night.
