Le Selman Marrakech, an enchanting hotel at the foot of the Atlas

Easy to access, promise of a total change of scenery, Marrakech, with its joyful medina, its fragrant gardens, its souk full of a thousand finds and its majestic palaces, presents itself as the most exotic and sunny destination three hours from Paris. Here is an iconic address where to put down your suitcases: le Selman Marrakech, where one now discovers the new fabulous restaurant of Jean-François Piège.

The Hotel

It is one of the most beautiful hotels of Marrakech. At the foot of the Atlas, le Selman, property of a great family deeply rooted in Moroccan culture, stands out by its family spirit and its squadron of purebred Arabian horses evolving freely in the stud farm of the hotel and sharing the daily life of the guests to spread a joyful atmosphere and give a special soul to the place.

This palace of Arab-Moorish inspiration, planted in the middle of a lush 6-hectare park, was entirely designed by Jacques Garcia and is composed of 60 rooms (around MAD 5,500), suites (MAD 9,500) and villas with private pools (MAD 14,000), all as sumptuous as each other with a mix of Moroccan tradition and modern comfort. The sublime 80-meter pool lined with palm trees and the fabulous stables complete this idyllic picture. Note: if you have the courage to leave this paradise for a few excursions or rounds of golf, the Selman staff takes care of everything!

The restaurants

One must first note the opening last September of La Terrasse by Jean-François Piège, offering for lunch a light and tasty Mediterranean cuisine in the shade of elegant white canvases and, in the evening, cocktails in a festive atmosphere. Le Selman Marrakech and Jean-François Piège continue their collaboration with the opening of Sabo, a gastronomic restaurant open in the evening, with a Belle Époque decor that dazzles and equipped with a retractable roof allowing, on nice days, to dine under the stars.

The starred chef has fun there combining French know-how and richness of Moroccan products with, on the menu, unique and surprising dishes like the red shrimp or Oualidia oysters flambéed with cognac (MAD 280) served with a pepper sauce and fries, salads seasoned with argan oil (MAD 140), sea bass cooked in a wood-fired oven with an inimitable flavor (MAD 480), tartare prepared at your table (MAD 520), or even this irresistible strawberry and raspberry nage with champagne (MAD 240 for two).

Special mention also for the fabulous restaurant Assyl where one enjoys the best traditional Moroccan cuisine and Le Pavillon with its colonial atmosphere, overlooking the stud farm and paddocks, to enjoy on Sunday the best brunch of Marrakech.

The spa

Le Chenot, 1,200 m² spa set with a heated pool, invites you to live a health and beauty experience of a few hours or several days with the famous Chenot method and treatments based on the principle of traditional Chinese medicine, all associated with the most advanced medical sciences. Its treatment cabins, its foot massage pool, its two hammams and its hydrotherapy cabins make it a truly unique wellness temple.

Rooms from MAD 5,500.
