Infiltrate a Bakery for a Day

Baguette, croissant, pain au chocolat, tradition, chouquette… just saying the words makes our mouths water. And while preparing all these delights may seem far too technical, you can actually learn the craft alongside real artisan bakers who’ll teach you everything about this art (yes, it really is an art). So we slip on an apron, rise (almost) with the sun, and infiltrate Parisian bakeries to uncover every trick of the trade.

The Most Comforting

Baking bread is easier than it looks ! Especially with the expert advice of Sami, an artisan baker working every morning in his workshop in the 12th arrondissement of Paris. His specialty ? Sourdough bread, known for being healthier and easier to digest than white flour. Time to roll up your sleeves, grab a rolling pin, and work that dough!

The Most Technical

Let’s be honest : making a perfect choux pastry is tricky. But to stop messing it up, head to the workshop led by Chloé, a pastry chef who previously worked with François Perret at the Ritz. She’ll teach you every technique needed to master an incredible choux pastry so you can make chouquettes, Paris-Brest, or even religieuses. She’ll also share her best tips for nailing the craquelin and chantilly. A dream.

The Most Kawaii

Yes, the French make the best bread in the world. BUT ! We must admit that Japanese shokupan is a delight : soft, light, and cloud-like. Hortense, a professional pastry chef, drew inspiration from her travels in Japan to learn all the secrets behind this ultra-fluffy loaf and now offers workshops to share them with Parisian food lovers. A delicious gateway into Japanese cuisine!

The Most Indulgent

Is there anything better than biting into a warm, freshly baked pain au chocolat ? Yes : doing it after making it yourself. Anthony’s bakery in the Marais offers private workshops to teach pastry lovers how to make their own viennoiseries from A to Z. Time to get baking !
